I've been shopping around on further internal mods for my D16a6 and came apon this MONSTER N\A SOHC.
181 whp and 116 ft/lbs of torque in their ALL motor SOHC 1.6L.
Pretty nice for a " weak old SOHC", I'm sick of people hatin on D series motors.

Setup:
SRP pistons
13.5:1 Compression
Factory Honda rods and bearings
Balanced and blueprinted bottom end
Custom cam and intake manifold
Speed Machine head work
AN-R Header
Standalone system

180 hp is damn good for a dseries engine, that is what he meant when he called it a beast.

dseries

Hell yea its a beast. I've heard a D series with masive mods, and they do sound like f'n racing bikes. I love my D series .The only good mustang is a pre 70s. Stangs are crap, heavy ass bodies with weak ass tiny 8 cylinders. Why would you own a newer mustang. They are american uncle bens rice. If you want a fast awsome handling american sports car, get a 86-88 fiero gt ( if you can't afford a zr1 vette ).

You are a complete f**king moron. I guess 260hp and high 13's stock is weak. How are they rice? Do you even know what the term rice means?
A fiero?? ha
If i could afford a corvette(Z06) i would have gotten one, but sadly i can't. Until then, i guess i'm just going to have to live with the fact that i drive a slow riced out mustang

Funniest thing I've heard all week. The only respect that guy gets from me is spending that much time and money on all that s**t. 180 hp is definitely respectable for an SOHC but not respectable at all for a street car.

You sir are a complete moron. You have no idea what you're talking about. 13's stock is weak? 86-88 fiero is fast? Wow, you really need to do some research. Its people like you that bring this world down.

Look fags, mustangs are weak. First off I'd like to take my wieght to power ratio against yours in a road course.
My fiero (which I sold) smoked many modified stangs. All I had was a custom header & exhaust, & slight internal work. This car was light as hell and was pushing about 240whp. I'm not saying a Dseries is even gonna hang with a turbocharged stang. But I would much more rather have had a Z 28, with a stock 300hp & much better engine, muuuuch better. LTs rule.

Quit making f**king excuses. My car isn't an autocross car, i never said it was. I've taken my car to phoenix int'l raceway (PIR) and run the road coarse there and beaten cars that handle much better than mine. I can outrun them on the straits, simple as that.

You have any timeslips for that fiero? You've smoked modified stangs? You sure they weren't sixers?

How is the z28 engine any better? You talking about the lt1 or ls1? The ls1 isn't bad, but there is no f**king room in that engine bay to do anything. The aftermarket is nowhere near as large as the mustangs either. The z28, well the camaro and firebird in general, are gone now. Shows how good they really were 8)

I never said that D series ran straight track.
I got rid of my fiero appx 3 years ago and don't have the old time slips from Ohio Valley (guess I look like the ass here)
The gto is replacing the camero\firebird.
I don't want to make enemies, its just I've never rode in or raced a mustang that made me like them. But then again they were not turbo. Does your car have trouble staying on the road ( running ) with the turbo. I would think so because all my freinds that have mustangs have had trouble with their 4.6 v8s ,stock.

i dunno about zinc ... but my buddy has a stock 89 5.0 mustang with a bangin system and an upgraded alternator and it runs great, he never has any problems with it and he has had it for almost a year now. I mean sure if i put a b16 in my car i could run about even with him or maybe pull on him (im assuming he runs low to mid 15's ... he hasnt been to the track)

i have pretty good respect for fords cause my family had a 91 ford bronco that we bought in 92 from a dealership with hardly any miles on it, and that car ran great the entire time we owned it .. it has the 350 something v8 and when we sold it it has 220,000 miles on it with the original engine ... we never had to replace anything major on it ... ever.

Your right Melt, I had a 86 bronco and it was an strong truck, but the 4 wheel drive kept going out, so I kept getting stuck and thus came my dislike for fords. I got a 73 vw bus, jacked it up about 6 inches, put a wench on it and have never got stuck. My vw has 46whp yes thats right 46 and it has never broke down (I think it runs upper 40s,ha ha ,amazing what them old air cooled gemans can do). Anyways sorry for insulting the ford fans.

alright already! enough crying about domestic cars. we all know they have big engines and there heavy. everyone knows the camaro/firebird aint no more, and well yes the mustang has stood the test of time. But imports, im sorry, are the higher power. And isnt this a club for civics anyway?

c'mon guys, zincs car is badass. i hate fords as well, but i still respect his car. his car is running low 13's and will soon break 12's. i have another friend with an auto gt that is running consistant 13.7 with just exhaust, chip, and gears. and even tho i may hate the brand, i still give respect where it is deserved.

that d-series is built pretty good, and i respect the builder, but look at those specs, not the most cost efficient build out there. 13.5 has to be a b***h to maintain as streetable, and with the cost off the build, a c5 is right there with power, and still has potential to make more. good engine, but i doubt anyone else will want to build one just like it after looking at the final cost and the final power output

theres a mustang owner on here because he feels like being here .... he has been here long before most of the people on here, and is a valued member of the clubcivic community. Thats why.

I didn't mean anything by it ,no need to be an arrogant a*****e and give me a snotty answer.I was not bashing him.It seems like on here if you ask a question u get bashed.I just found it odd that a mustang owner/enthusiast/whatever was on a CIVIC board.

This looks like a great site and i will continue to browse as it is very informative but it seems like if you oppose/disagree with someone 10 other ppl jump in to bash the one guy. Just seems like all ppl wanna do on here is bash and talk s**t.

Take that however you want it.
