Its a great Idea and I really think you shoudl do a write up on how you went about making that "fake wall" cuz I want to make on like that to mount my amp. But...I think its a lil overkill on the number of speakers. If there were two subs in there instead of those 6x9s, i think it would be a different story. But you get an A for effort...:thumbs up

You can use the fabric on the back of the seat to mount an amp, thats how I mounted mine, Just screw it into the fabric, and it will stay put.

I think it's awesome, just a tad overkill for my tastes tho.

*cough*cough*ghetto*cough* ;)

SB - Ive got one issue with your system layout... well, a couple, but who am i? ;)

The"wall" houses the 6x9s, sealing off the trunk area from the interior of the car.. then, the subs are pointed towards the rear of the car (this is fine) but IMO, the isolation is my biggest issue.. Granted, you hear bass in the car, but it's all residual..
Still a good project, though..

In no way is mounting an amp to the back of a rear seat ghetto.... just about every professional car audio installer does it... if done right not only does it save A LOT of space but it can actually look pretty clean. I wish I had pics of my install from my civic that 1999stockaccord and I did to show you...

But thats nice Silver.... now wait til I get my system up and running, I challenge you to an IQ and SQ comp... maybe even SPL

Very true. All my friends have had amps installed all by different companies and they all have mounted them to the back of the seat.

But I must say, this is an old thread to bring back... So random...

Not bad. I would not have done 6. It looks funny. Maybe 4 would look better. Also you could have made the wall look cleaner around the edges. But A for effort.

IMO, you should make the subs look more flush with the trunk. Hid the amps, cross overs, caps all that. Then make a fiberglass wall for the speakers in the cabin. That would mean an A+

People can hear me comming for 1/2 a mile to 1 mile (5-10 blocks as reference) dependent on time of day and amount of traffic (if i have my stereo cranked up), and i by no means need 8 6x9's to do so.

2 12's @ 1200w will turn more heads then your annoyingly high pitched sound. I have 2x Diamond D3 6.5" integrated component speakers in my front doors, 2x Diamond D3 6x9 in the rear deck, 2x Diamond CM3 12" subs, and im hittin about a 149.5 on the new term lab system.

As for having that many 6x9's in general for the sound quality... must suck, unless you have an external amp powering them. I had those pioneers and i absolutly hated them (which is why my audio is all from Diamond Audio now) and i know theyre rated at about 60w constant, and i know your deck doesnt put out 240w for all those 6x9's, plus whatever you have in your doors.

function over form.

kay stupid question time...how do 8 6x9s and 2 subs located in your trunk produce enough pressure to even compete if the SPL measuring tool is on the dash or front seat?
