ghetto muffler repair

so i dont know how many of u actually remember but my muffler used to look like this..

personally i liked it but i guess this bridge i drove over like it more and when i came off the end of the bridge... well it ripped the muffler off.

yes i cleaned it up to take a pic of it after it got ripped off.

anyways since then the car has been lowered more and the tires have a shorter height than the oem wheels.

well i got tired of the lack of muffler there since i;ve just been driving around with a resonator and thats about it. anyways i decided to use metal epoxy to sorta "glue" it back on. cost me all of 5 bucks for the epoxy so i figured i might as well see how it turns out. i;ll also be doing a product review on the stuff that i used later on cause i;m sure the muffler;s going to hit something. the back end of the car is up in the air right now cause the epoxy is curing. i;ll have a pic up in a few. i;m kinda worried about the muffler actually touching the ground when i lower it... spose we;ll have to wait to find out

any predictions?

im gonna say not good, but good luck. if you take that to a muffler shop you can get it re-welded for like $20

exactly. some of the guts are still on the exhaust pipe.

yeah my suspension has a lot of travel as u can see...

it ooks like its going to be close... very close

have you thought about making somekind of skid plate so that the canister wont catch on objects and rather slide over it?

i did actaully. but i dont really have any materials to make something like that right now. i wish i had a welder... i can weld anything back together. and it would come in handy for certain projects. k so i guess as long as it isn;t oxyacetylene i can weld it. i never figured out how to weld with the huge torch.

i already figured somthing like this

you could wrap one end with one of those steel tightening clips like the one that come on your air intake. and maybe glue the other side wo the canister.

of course this looks shitty cause i did it in paint but im sure you could find a piec of metal you can bend in home depot and the metal tightening clip

GOOD NEWS.. the muffler wasn;t touching the ground when i set the car back down.

i;m going to go take some up close shorts to see just how low to the ground it is.
