I brought my 99 civic awhile back. Fix everything on the exterior. Now, I just found out I blew the tweeters that previous owner put on. I hated crystals anyways . Hah. So what are some goooood brands for some 6x5 tweeters? I'm not a fan of subs

i put some power acoustic tweeters in place of the OEM ones. i also bass blocked all my inside speakers including my tweaters. you can get bass blockers at best buy or circuit city and you cut the power wire to each speaker and put the bass blocker in place and hook the power wire to each end of the bass blocker.. it gives clean sound with no bass or distortion and i got the 2 12s in the back for my clean bass response.

I can't tell you what's going to sound good to you. I personally prefer silk dome to berylium or titanium. They "ring" less...sound less tinny. Like MB Quarts, they sound tinny to me. I know MB Quart owners who swear that that is an accurate sound reproduction and that they do very well in SQ so it's all in the individual listeners' ears.

I'd go diamond audio, I have fallen in love with their speakers, gettin the components put in next week. Thing that sucks is Magnolia Hi-Fi is the only place around here that carries em, and they are gettin rid of car audio in May forever, which means no good place to get higher end car audio, and installers you can actually trust, makes me so sad!! I have had 2 cars done there now... :( I dunno what I am gonna do when I actually buy a dope car in a few years after I get outta college and wanna throw a sick system in it....

replace the entire front speakers system, dont just install new tweeters, focals rock if you can afford them. $350 for 6.5" access series.

Boston makes a great set of components...

the kid at the stereo shop down the street said i was the first person in a hundred to not like MB quarts...

Boston components FTW

Check this out.

A month or two ago I was fixin my broken-window-problem-every-6th-gen-owner-experiences-eventually and I pulled a wire to the mid range somewhere still tryin to figure out where. Anyway, I got only my tweeter on the drivers side and it still sounds pretty damn descent not that high pitched or tinny but still clear and loud. ;) Oh and I'm all about SQ BTW I don't care so much about sheer volume.
