My Homemade turbo Build...

Ok, Got my oil lines in... Im now one step closer to a turbo'd car.

Oil return, and feed lines:

So far nothing leaks, (whew) and car runs normal.

Getting that pan off is a b***h... but tapping it was easy. I put a washer on the outside, and a nut on inside, and smothered the whole thing w/ jbweld.

Oil return line back into pan:
(jbweld is just a precaution, should seal anyway)

Oil feed line:

t'd off pressure sensor behind block, above oil fiter:

ghetto intercooler hose: (it'll work!!!)

HF manifold with o2 plug drilled for EGT probe:

random brass fittings:

gauges installed: (had to return a/f, shipping a new one out)

DIY fuel pressure gauge:

drilled out this brass plug, threaded with a brass 90' and screwed $15 dollar pressure gauge in:

as you can see, I tried to cut an notch and remove with a screwriver. Turns out its NOT threaded. So I had to drill, and tap.

some pics of the intercooler/piping install:

measured, and drilled holes in top, and bottom of bumper support:

mounted intercooler using 6in. bolts and a big nut as a spacer: (they were too long)

charge pipe is 2" tank truck hose: (as you can see, it should work well)

that's not me:
(in case you were wondering... he owns a supercharged gsr hatch(supercharger is not installed yet)

also not me:

Not shown, but hose runs thru stock airbox and will be covered by stock intake tube: (with slit in bottom to wrap over hose)

Update:

Got the injectors and resistor box in sunday. It was real easy. If not for the rain, it prob would of only taken 45min for both.

Ran like ass, and would barely start til i installed ECU chip. (custom from phearable.net)

It runs great, a lil rich in the higher rpms but thats to be expected (especially w/out the turbo installed).

So, all i need now is the hf to t25 adaptor plate (on order) and downpipe (having it made locally) and the beast will be spoolin.

Here are some updated photos of my build...

resistor box installed: (used voltmeter to locate injector power wires, and depinned them from harness. Pinnned them into resistor harness, and powered red resistor wire from remaining power wires on engine harness
http://eastcoastchopstix.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=531&highlight=resistor )

trimmed, and repainted grill flat black to match intercooler:

ghetto intake piping:
$7 lowes special dryer hose

intercooler hose runs thru stock airbox:
bov will be hidden in airbox, and stock intake hose will be slit underneath, to wrap over, and hide intercooler hose.

installed oil pressure gauge in center console:

I kinda like the oil gauge in the console, but how will you see it when you're driving?

Looks really good so far. How much clearance do you have between the IC pipes and the fogs?

why are you going through the hassle of hiding the cold ic piping when anyone can just look down a see a turbo? its not like nitrous where you can hide EVERYTHING basically.....

interesting choice for ic piping, LOOKS like itll work great, hopefully it holds pressure and everything for you

i can see it fine when driving... the ebrake only covers the lower corner from visibility, but needle is still 100% visible.

I got the hose from a local Hose shop.. Called "Asheville Hose". It was $6 a foot. Its labeled "Tank Truck Hose" ( 2" in. 140psi)

The resistor box was included with 450cc injectors, all for $100 which is a lil steap. But its found in any older civic/crx, basically all accords, and preludes. It can easily be had for $20

and dude in pic is "Pay per Poke"... $1 Thursdays. and senior discounts on Tuesday.

the piping fits nicely below the fogs. It took a little arranging, and I had to bend the metal mount under the fogs... (but no harm done). Fits nice now.

Im running stock heat shield over HF manifold, painting the turbo's compressor housing black, and putting the a/c radiator back in to make for more cramped space. All that should cover it nicely.
