3grand is a bit much, thats approaching lock-up speeds (one reason aftermarket converters have higher stall speeds, you can t-b them higher) about 2 grand is plenty for me to spin the tires in first, but the exact timing of brake release and throttle in needs to be practiced or you will just delay yourself .and what smell are you talking about?
