we just go this
Dear Tenants,
As you should be aware, the National Weather Service is predicting severe storms and high winds in the Chicago Area today and tomorrow. Therefore, throughout the predicted storms, the Office of the Building will endeavor to take the following steps:
1) Keep Tenants informed by passing on information received from the Building Owner’s and Managers Association (BOMA) or the City of Chicago’s Office of Emergency Management & Communications (OEMC) by emailing the Tenant contact list.
2) If the City of Chicago sounds the warning sirens, people are advised to stay inside and seek shelter. Therefore, if the warning sirens are activated, the Office of the Building will endeavor to make an announcement on the building’s PA system instructing Tenants to Shelter in Place. It is HIGHLY UNLIKELY that the City of Chicago will direct the building to be evacuated so Tenants should Shelter in Place unless otherwise directed.
3) When instructed to Shelter in Place, Tenants should please take the following actions:
a) Stay away from windows and other glass surfaces.
b) Move quickly to the interior (elevator lobby and stairwell areas) of the building.
c) Do not use the elevators
d) DO NOT GO TO THE LOBBY
e) Listen for further instructions from the building’s PA system.
4) Here is an example of the Shelter in Place announcement:
Attention, Attention please. This is a Shelter In Place announcement. There is a severe weather situation that may affect the Loop area. Stay away from all windows. Repeat, stay away from all windows. All tenants should proceed to the elevator corridor and stairwell areas and remain there until further notice.
5) Once the severe weather has passed, we will make another PA announcement to notify tenants of the all clear.
Please notify us immediately of any damage or suspected damage to your suite.
Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
