Me and John lived with my father-in-law and his mother for 2 1/2 years down in his basement. It wasn't that bad considering the circumstances, but I'm SOOOOOO glad I live in my own house. We both agreed if anything happened with either my parents or his dad & grandma NO ONE was moving in with us. We're sticking them in a home or something, even if it was going to cost us.
But technically in your mother-in-laws case it would cost her more to move from Colorado to Madison, when she could be putting that money to good use by paying them off little by little and get that headache done and over with. Trust me... if there is a will, there is a way to get out of debt. You and Jess are STILL newly married and need all the privacy you can get before you guys to decide to start a family of your own.
