connie, you think its the water pump thats causing you to overheat?
does the car overheat while it's just chillin, or while its rolling?
It's a possibility, we think. It's always if it stays on idle and not moving. For an example: like letting it run while your in the grocery store for 5 to 10 minutes or just letting the car get to regular temp in the cold or even heat up the oil.
When we drove down to North Carolina back in August ,the moment we stopped after 3 or 4 hours of driving to fill up with gas... we'd get off the exit, stop at a red light and then the temp gauge just goes up and by then it has already dumped into the overflow.
Like I said, the only thing we haven't changed out is the water pump. When it overheated last week, I noticed white billowing smoke coming out from the exhaust, but it was also friggin cold as hell that morning too. So I was thinking maybe a blown head...? When I poped the hood on my break at work, I checked the overflow and it was only 45% full. So I put it back into the radiator. But it's losing fluid from somewhere because it didn't overflow onto the radiator, when I tried putting what was in the overflow back into the radiator.
