that's what I thought it was. That looks dope!!! how much did the suede cost you? i was debating on doing my entire dash and all in suede, but decided against it.

Theres a big difference. I have a good Alpine F1 Crossover unit and I can control each individual speaker levels up and down +or- 12db. Before I had just a 6.5 inch driver and tweets and it sounded OK but the addition of the 5.25 really fills in the missing frequencies that a 6.5 inch can't reach. The clarity is much better, especially voices and guitar etc.
The biggest thing anyone can do is sound deaden there car. Sound deadening alone adds a huge difference. Door speakers hit harder and it's much easier to tune.
looks pretty damn good...was that your first attempt at it?...what mold did you use fot the kick panels? make it yourself?...i dont know if i want my tweeters that far away from the mids...

Yah I wondered about that first but with the control I have with the crossover it sounds great. This is not my first install. I worked at a car audio place through university and I learned a lot about installations.
Civics suck for front stage. Most guys that are serious about it and have lots of cash will build out the doors and put speakers higher up towrds the side view mirrors or put something in the dash. It's a lot of work and you end up having to reinforce the inside of your doors and re-route power window and doorlock stuff.
The kicks are made out of MDF and a bit of fibreglass. The kick just actually covers the rim of the speaker and I took a mold of each side of the wall and built a ring for the speaker to sit in...maybe I'll just attach some pics.
