well, im looking at purchasing a 1993 Civic EX coupe, it sounds like a fixer upper, but my wife saids i cant get it until i figure out what a turn over bearing is. i've never heard what that is, and the only thing that comes to mind is its a wheel bearing,

also, i have yet to look at it, or come up with the funds for it (waiting on the deal to fall through on my EF Civic im selling); its quite a bit aways from my house even by Arkansas standards.

thanks for the help

well how old is your wife, and dose she have any automotive know-how,

the reason that i ask this is that if shes older then you and knows anything about marketing i would that the a turn over bearing is a referance to how much money your making on the EF to how much your spending on the other.

It's a trick question is my guess.

She said you can't buy it until you figure out what a turn over bearing is. Sounds made up to me, so in turn you wouldn't be able to figure out what it is as it doesn't exist. Therefore, you can't buy the car.

Tell you wife that you want to turn over her bearings and call it a night. Wake up and go get you car.

let me do a little clarification.

the guy selling the car says that it will be needing a clutch and TO (turn over is what he said) bearings.

my wife said i cant get it til i figure out what he is talking about; she's not trying to get me to figure out some metaphorical s**t.

what does a throw bearing do?
ive read that i'll have to change it with the clutch, how much would it cost to get both changed?

Click here to learn how your clutch and throw out bearing work.

Doing a clutch job entails replacing the friction disk, pressure plate, and throw out bearing. Also have the flywheel resurfaced. The OEM parts would cost about $220 at Majestic Honda, which would be approximately your cost if you did the job yourself. The job requires removal of the transmission, so labor won't be cheap if done by a mechanic. If you go this route, buy the OEM parts and bring them to a mechanic with experience working on Hondas. Call around for the best prices.
