I was planning on beefing my suspension out with ST Sways and I already have quality upper struts, how badly would an H22A handle in a 00 ex?

Better then a Porsche, of course. Really though, simple weight modifications can improve handling before spending big bucks. Eg; Moving weight around.

I want to know this too. There almost a 2,000 dollar difference in the two engines. I mean, if you put 2g's into your suspension with the H22a i don't understand how bad could your handling could be. I know that the prelude engine weighs alot but there has to be a way you could shift some of that weight to the back. But i guess if this were so easy everyone would be doing it. Because it is a faster engine then the b swaps and it is also less money. Please somebody post who knows what they are talking about...... thanks.....

ive been considering doing the h22 swap into my 98 ex and have heard both good and bad things about all of it. ive heard that all the mounts and axles and suspension stuff is expensive. example- then enjo mounts that let you keep ac and power steering are 599.99, recommended axles are 399.99, and the springs the suggest for the swap i think are between 300 and 400. this is where im stuck because thats in itself is close to the 2 grand diffrence between the h22 and even the b18c type r motor ive also heard from a couple of people around town that even if there installed right they never seem to run right. but then again ive also heard that if you put a stock h22 motor in a civic it will run mid 13 with no mods so, i just like you and stuck trying to decide with motor swap to do. hope this helps in some way otherwise sorry for taking up space.

Hey I am guys, it doesn't handle all that bad like people say they do. If you got with this set up you want speed. Like I said before it's not all that bad. I won't be autocrossing my hatch cause that's not my style of racing.

On the spring issue you can use interga springs. Here is a helpful site concerning the H22a swap

http://h22acivic.com/9295H22aswap.phtml

here's a swap outline from hasport for eg civics. if i find anything else for 6th generation (96-00)

what are you talking about!!! i have a friend that has one and it handles better than mine! if you have all teh stock suspension s**t on there then yes it will be bad for your autocross dreams..but my buddy got some dss stg2 axels so no binding, and some skunk2 coilovers w/ yellow konis and some rear control arms, and sway bar...if you read any HOW TO on h22a in a civic they will all way advise you to up the axels and suspension to handle good.

IM HERE!!!! lol, well it does drive pretty go0d, it turns very well(probably cuz i have an ITR suspension) but i havent drove one without an ITR suspension s0 i wouldnt kno how it feels..but becuz of the added weight in the front(if you look at the front of my car the front is lower than the back and trust me the car isnt suppose to be lowered) the turning isnt Auto X but its more than go0d enough to get around town with..as for drag racing the car is awesome..:D

what are stage 2 axels? and where would you get them? what do they do? don't axels come with the engine if you buy "complete change over" from hmotors? I'm so confused please help

shitty, I have heard that the extra weight of the heavy engine its noticable....I would swap a b18c5, they are lighter, and the swap is WAY easier

ok even though the h22a weighs just lil bit more (around 60-80lbs more) you wanna support that extra weight. if you don't and your axles will start binding, and make you handle like s**t...the dss stg 2 axels are perfect for and eg/ek civic with a h22 swap. so no binding will occurr
here i found a link about h22a swaps, everything you need to know about doing it is in this link. http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=650329
