the recession is not pushing gas prices down.... i'm sure the lesser demand is making an impact, but i really don't think the huge drops are because of this... imho, i think it's probably the fact that the gulf coast refineries that had to temporarily shut down are back in service again

Lesser demand tied to cutting back due to tough times IMO has caused prices to come down (related to recession) + Fall season (less vacation) + a variety of things (Refineries, etc...)... I still think fear helped push them down...
