unless you know a good deal about tuning and boosting, building a custom turbo setup on your car will be alot more dangerous than a kit. the kit is designed for your car

he can't change it, only mods can.

Why don't you build the motor to handle the boost first, that way, you don't have to worry about blowing this motor up too.

you dont know much about boost, you dont know how to put together a kit, and you already blew up one motor.. man... you really shouldnt be boosting. 50 bucks says you blew it up because you dont know how to drive a turbo car or how to take care of it. no kit, custom or off the shelf, is gonna protect your car from you.

I'll just stay away from this one.

you have A LOT of research to do before you do a custom setup, unless you have a B16 tree :D

funny, the reason my car blew wasnt due to my driving or anything like that...i could have sworn in one of my posts i put the mechanics didnt put the keepers on the pistons so they where rattling in the cylinders, thats why it blew, i knew something was wrong but i didnt think it was that so i just kept on going.. opps =)

as for knowing about boost your right i dont know alot, but i do know enuff now that i have had the experince, i didnt come here expecting you to put me down... if you dont know the answer dont post.. its that easy, i asked for help, not insults.. so next time you read something please read it correctly, i put "can anyone gimme any sugjestions?" not "can anyone insult me" if you know about it great, help me out.. if you know about it and you dont want to help me fine.. if you want to insult me.. just dont even bother posting...

theres your answer. if your pistons are rattling that much, and you still drove the car, mechanics mistake or not, you had a hand in that motors demise. and if you dont know much about custom kits, why would you try to build one? and if the greddy kit had nothing to do with killing the motor, why not reuse it? if you already bought it, its not a bad place to start. you asked for advice, just because the advice i gave you wasnt what you wanted to hear doesnt mean im insulting you, it means im giving you advice. its YOUR problem if you dont want to listen to it. if you dont know the first place to start building a custom turbo kit, then its probably not a good idea to try to build one. this, like many, many car related questions has a simple answer- if you have to ask about it, you probably shouldnt be doing it. if you dont know about custom kits, and have not taken the time to educate yourself about them (like read the sticky i put up in the boost forum that goes into great detail about what and how a turbo kit is) then building one is probably not a good idea. and if you already have a perfectly good kit that works and is complete, there is little reason to sell it unless it doesnt specifically meet your needs/goals- another thing that is absolutely key to choosing a custom kit which you failed to mention. i could keep going, but you get the point. boost isnt for everyone. and judging by what youve posted and how you reacted to me, you are probably one of them. that is not an insult- that is an opinion and a suggestion, which is EXACTLY what you asked for.

that i can handle.. but as for me, i still want to LEARN and if flubbin up is part of it so be it... and i didnt like the greddy kit cause it wasnt what i wanted.. of course ima build the engine to take the boost and all but i am just learning about custom kits... thats why i want to build one..

Well how much cash do you have? And are you planning on installing yourself? What are your horsepower goals? What is your inteded use for the turbo setup?

right now i have roughly 8500 dollars i know thats more than enought to make a turbo kit but i am still gonna need to tune and all the other good stuff and build my block and get hondata stuff like that.. I do not plan on me installing it.. there is a "specialty shop" thats giving me a hella deal 1200 installed and fully tuned... my hp goals are 275-350hp (its possible) and intended use is everyday driver...
