I need moped help!

ok so i got this TNG LS49cc moped from my friend it doesnt run but i got it for 50$ i was wondering if any of you guys had any idea why its not starting. the piston is turning over but nothing seems to happen iv got the right spark plug and took the carb apart, how do i check for if a spark plug has spark. im kinda lost in this but hope i get it going, i tried posting this on a moped forum but there all dumb as s**t and talk down and arent as cool as CC so i would see if anyone knew anything on here about it. thanks again guys

take the plug and ground it to the head and see if it is sparking when you turn it over. is this a pedal powered moped... like is there a set of pedals to get it going like a bike?

be sure your getting fuel.. try using starter fluid to get it going... if it runs on that then you know you have a clogged carb jet or something.

so just put some fuel in where the spark plug typically goes then put the plug back in? its an elec start/kick start but the elec start isnt working

you still haven't confirmed that you have spark. No help until you confirm.

yea ive told you how to check for spark... i could probably get it running... but you need to tell us if you have spark..

Does it have gas, it can be the starter, maybe alternator doesnt charge the battery, maybe its the battery...

i found someone that sells the whole kit for 150 bux... dont know how reliable it is... but it seems worthy

that looks like the same kit i found to buy....

how did you have to modify it? my concerns are that i havent yet seen them mounted on a mountain bike with a straight tube diamond frame... ive only found pics of them on beach cruisers. the mounting locations seem to much of an angle to fit a mountain bike.

and how did you get past the cables that run under the frame? thats another concern of mine....
