well making a car right hand drive requires replacing the firewall and dash support.. you need to take the ENTIRE car apart. Its not something that bolts rite on. as far as the roof, that did not need to be done, but I wanted factory power sunroof, so I did it as well. Its not a simple process, It takes time, patience, skill, and money. fortunately I work at a bodyshop and the guys here all chipped in and are helping out. so instead of this being a 3 month project, we can hopefully get my car on the road in 4 weeks. It will be alot of late nights. but it will also be a world of wheels car next year and a few of the other shows.

The center consol needs a bit of work. I will post up what to do when I mod the RHD consol I have. Need to do some trimming under where the ashtray goes, and you need to make some brackets for the floor. nothing too serious. I would do the JDM audio consol but unfortunatly it has no provisions for a cup holder and I commute 80 miles a day.

that just completely boggles my mind why you would spend so much money/time and effort to just sit on the other side of the car. i wouldn;t even want to drive a rhd car but thats just me... good luck with all that it looks liek you know what you are doing though

I cant wait to see it finished either. So far I think i have 5 grand into my car.. TOTAL that includes the price of the car. I plan on showing it in the World of Wheels car show and several other events as well. So far it really hasn't been alot of work. Its not hard if you know what your doing. Its more of manual labor then anything.. drilling and grinding spotwelds is not a fun way to spend 8 hours. I think I have 20 hours into trimming out the RHD firewall alone. as far as the pics, I had my car completly stripped in 3 hours, that includes the harnesses and fuel lines. and it took another 4 hours to do the roof. I have had my car apart so many times that its like second nature. But this SHOULD be the last time I have to take my car apart to do anything. Unless I blow a motor or something. I will keep posting pics of the progress all the way through. and I hope to put together a website journaling what it took.

Im hoping to have her back on the road by the middle of may.. I will have it all put back together, the parts all jambed for paint and the rest in primer.. I'm not going to paint it rite away, I have to let the 'ol checkbook bounce back a bit. I am replacing all the front sheet metal with new OE parts and it needs both bumper covers as well.. when its painted I will be replacing all the mouldings as well so I will be spending about a grand on parts.I figure when all is said and done, painted, interior, motor, I will have about 8 grand into the car total. so 8 grand for a bitchin ride with a supercharged b18c1 will kick ass. then hopefully someone will buy her from me and I can do the EVO motor swap in my galant. :D More pics to come in the next day as I will have the main part of the firewall cut out tomorrow.

why not just look for a galant vr4 and fix her up? they are the ultimate sleeper... and it has the good ol 4g63 just like the evo :thumbs up

oh yeah, in case any one wonders what the black stuff in my car is... its dynamat spray in. DONT EVER USE THIS!!!! ITS CRAP! The whole interior will be done in dynamat ultra. my car will probly weigh about 2100lbs but with forced induction life should still be well.

yes they are. Me and my friends know first hand what they can do. 1 sec they were next to us, the next they were long gone.

I have an 01 galant. I was thinking of doing a VR4 setup on it, but the new gens use a completely different 4g63. its completely backwards of the motors used in the older style and DSM eclipses. For about 5 grand I can get A front cut with all the driveline the center diff, and rear setup. either that or I will just buy a gray market Evo5 or an STI. As far as the person who asked why spend so much time and money on my car..... There are a few reasons. One, becasue I like working on my car. Two, its a hobby that keeps me out of trouble. Three, to be different then EVERY OTHER HATCH.... I mean, honestly, how many people here have done motor swaps? how many people put body kits on? anyone here NOT spend money on there cars? do you not put hard work into it? Its all about fun, passion, and showing what you can do.
