]ok everyone i finally found a ef civic for the perfect price but the guy says its a dx and its missing the passenger side mirror which i thought was an std thing but it has the middle light not the black piece and little dx in back corner itsalso a 4 speed manual i tried to upload pics but couldnt get them to load.

edit: it also appears to have a little consuel around the shifter not just a boot. reason i ask is i know on the std u have to change knuckles and everything to do any kind of motor swap but im not sure if i have to for a 4 speed dx

dx's didn't come in 4speed. just the STD's and HF's I think.

ive had 3 honda civc dx's 1990, 1991, nd my current one which u guessed it another 1991 and the have all been 5 speeds so there ur answer lol

looks like DX to me - has rear wiper plus other things you mentioned - what engine is in it? - D15B1 = STD - D15B2 = DX - maybe someone swapped the 4-speed into it? - to verify the hubs, remove the nut on the end of the axle and count the splines - DX has 26 - STD has 23

STD has exhaust manifold with close coupled cat and O2 sensor in the top - looks like this:

hey my STD doesnt have the exhaust manifold with O2 sensor on top does dat mean mine is not an STD model???

that manifold is from standard hatch the dx has the hedder style mi 91 dx came with a four speed and no rear wiper but it had air which the std never had the dx offered more options like for example the rear wiper and five speed but are not guaranteed on every dx model also mine didnt have a console around the shifter just the plain boot nothing on mine was swapped out when i got it it was a virgin rust bucket with 185000 mile owned by a stoned out bum so no money to repair or swap anything
