look up top where u took the old cd player out...its gonna be black with a lil silver rod thing stickin out. Just move the wire down to where ur cd player is at now, and its going to plug into either the left or right side on your cd player.

Sounds like a good idea to install the headunit at the bottom deck. I will move it down this weekend and post the result.
Thanks

does anyone know if its possible to install a head unit into a 6th gen civic into the place where the old cd player was instead of having it in the dash??? If so how hard was it to install and did u have to make any modifications???
Even tho I'm all late at responding to this thread , and plus the fact that you've probably already installed your head unit... I have my headunit located where your talking about in my EJ8 ( 98' Honda civic ex coupe ). I'll try and post pictures of the outcome at a later time. :D

It is a matter of taking out the center console really, you know... the part that covers your shifter and your e-brake. One you get that removed you have to unscrew the cup holder, the Tape/CD deck is attached to that. You are on your own... Im not responsible for anything you screw up! If you are smart and dont know what you are doing I have one word for you.... PROFESSIONAL

yes you can get a block off plate that just snaps in.. or you could even just cut one out of plexi glass and spray it.. i did that to hold some gauges..

The wiring should stretch the distance. I'm not sre if your going from the HU to the cup holders or vice versa. Either way. Cut the twist ties or watever is holding it on and just move it. You'll probably need a dash insert. You can cut it/ file it to fit then sand it down or filw it then sand and paint it watever colro yuo want or jsut repaint it black. If your going from the dash to the place behind the cup holders then all yuo ahve to do is angle the spacer upwards a bit. The deck should fit right in and it'll eb angled upwards fro better viewing and accesibility.
