that sucks, and yeah the dealer guys are usually jerks. maybe with your new tranny, you'll try to take it a little easier on it. mainly what i mean is not letting people learn to dirve a standard in you car! me personally, i never let anyone drive my car, even people that i know who can drive a standard. some say that i'm a d**k because of that, but i just don't want to deal with the tranny wear/damage. well, good luck with your tranny problem, and remember, don't take any s**t form those lying bastards!

i heard the adjustable shifters are not that good and get sloppy over time. i decided on the oem gsr shifter, i think it will work good

Hearing many bad stories about Pace Setter's exhaust, I have doubts about the quality of this product as well.

No I'm don't have an Integar shifter. Your post just got me interested and I did a lil researching. I love how the GSR shifts too. Knotchy precision but not overly hard to put into gear.

You can still get it in and let us know a first hand experience. I'm opting for the Skunk2 single bend now, that double bend doesn't suit my taste.

yeah i think i'll like all the qualities of the teg shifter a lot more that the oem civic one. i'm just not sure which one to order. i have found several part #'s for shifters that look identical. i don't know if i should get the gsr shifter (and which one) or the itr one either?

Yeah dude...don't count on your tranny lasting too long with a short shifter. You will miss gears alot easier and grind alot easier with one. You won't gain anything, and you will drive gorilla armed. Just my 2 cents...but I have 3 friends on their second transmissions thanks to short shifters.

ive installed a short shifter on my civic but there was one problem due to the shifters longer extention after ball it was hitting the heat shield on my exhaust but for quick fix just remove the heat shield and wrap your exhaust with thermal heat wrap because the shifter will get kinda hot. and if you plan on using a short shift or itr stock shifter just try to grab itr shift extention bar for even shorter shifts. hope this helps you.

oh yeah, almost forgot also get a shift stabalizer kit from energy suspension for even firmer shifts, if you need a tutorial for this, just ask.

I read somewhere yesterday that the GSR OEM shifter has to be shaved down to fit in the civic shift linkage. Something about the end being too fat.

I guess this is why my "short shifter for civic/integra" came with spacers. I didn't need the spacers on my civic so I was wondering what they were for; apperently because the integra has a wider mouth fork.

It was sort of alluded to that the 'teg LS shifter is actually different, and may fit differently than the GSR. If I find out, I'll post here.

well after some more research i found this. please correct me if i am wrong on anything, i not a complete expert on the subject.

the oem shifter for the 3 door integra gsr (from 94-01) has the same part number throughout the years. also, the integra type r has the same shifter part number as the regular gsr for years 97 and 98. however, for years 2000 and 2001, the integra type r shifter has has a different part number.

in either case, i would assume both shifters are wider than the civic's at the bottom where the linkage bolts on. so, i guess you'd have to modify them to fit the civic linkage. but, you could swap the linkages to eliminate this problem. the only thing about that is that i read the linkages will not fit a d series. i read they will only fit a 99-00 si, because it is dohc (like the teg)

well, that just the latest info i have. i'm still considering all those points (haven't ordered anything yet). see what you think...
