nice explanation. just to clarify i never said anything about high rpm kick or difference in sound that was in someone elses sound. i have a bullsh*t vx so i know how it feels and sounds.
as does mine... 5th gen was the only years with the exception of 92 that the covers said VTECSeanMc300 said:no sohc vtec motor says "vtec" on the cover. if yo ulook right next to your valve cover to the left, you will see a little thingee like a rounded stub tahts about 3 inches tall or so ( i think), thats your vtec solenoid. it has a green wire attached to it, thats the vtec signal wire. if you have it, you have vtec.
Thanks for clearing that up, I knew it couldnt have been 5000. Why does the VX tach say it redlines at 5K anyway?DizzyRoc88 said:who told you that and how can u back this up? vx redline is 6200 by the way
is ther a difference with canadian models? check the first digit of your vin and report backmymmeryloss said:i have a 92 civic si, and i know for a fact that they didnt put the VTEC on the valve cover till 93. thats just how it is. same thing with power windows and s**t.
because it became a yes, but then why and how. Its education in process. I knew VTEC was different in VXs, and I know a girl that has one. Her's is an CVT automatic. I knew a lot about that car because I'm nosy with cars that are different, I like to know whats going on. Thanks handlebarsfsr for that VTEC-E information. I didn't know it worked at that low of rpm level. I'm sure we all learned something, right JDM VX?JDM VX said:How the f**k did a "Yes/No" question turn into 2 pages of yapping?
The answer is yes, it has VTEC. Look for the green solonoid left of the valve cover.
