After about 12yrs of not having a cell phone, I'm getting another one today. :( Yeah, I don't want one.

the last time I had a cell phone, it was like 1998 and I threw it in the river while I was fishing because my wife kept calling me non-stop and leaving messages. It was a pre-paid cell so everytime I got a call, it would eat up my minutes and it didn't matter whether my phone was on or off. She thought I was f**king around but all I was doing was catching fish (the ones with scales that swim). So I never gave the b***h a chance to bother me again by throwing the phone in the river and never getting one again. She bought one and would tell me to keep it on me but I cancled it like a year ago because we rarely used it.

Now my job requires me to have one now so I must shop for one. I know I need unlimited calls and text but that's it. I don't know if I want a pre-paid boost mobile or a contract, I am clueless to all this cell phone s**t. So if there's any plans or deals that you guy's know of or something I should stay away from, let me know! I'm gonna do some shopping myself of course. ;)

thanks! :D

wow. I can't go anywhere without my cellphone or else I feel like I'm missing something.

Actually funny thing happened a couple days ago. Me and my roommate are walking to class and I go ohh s**t I forgot my phone. So I run up to my room and get it. I meet back up with him and I go "I would rather forget a book for class than forget my phone." So we get to class aaaannd I forgot my book and we had an open book test. FML

If you're the type of person who won't use the phone alot then go with a prepaid one to see how you like it. Then if you want you can switch into one with a contract.

thanks for the quick replies! Yeah, there's a deal over here with verizon (I'm pretty sure it's verizon) that gives you unlimited calls and text for like $40 bucks a month. Boost mobile has the same but for $50 bucks per month.

yeah, I know everyone has cell phones. s**t, my son has one! I just don't like being bothered I guess.

I thought you were finally coming out of the closet after 12 years

As far as cell phones go.... I've had Verizon for like 10 years now and I can't complain. Their prices aren't that great compared to other offers I've seen, but I've never had any issues when it comes to having a signal or calls being dropped.

Verizon FTW. Ive had Nextel, and Cingular (before AT&T bought them out), and both of them sucked ass. I didnt get reception in the middle of the local grocery store parking lot. WTF? Ive had verizon for a few years now, and love everything about it. Yea...they dont have an iphone, but who wants to pay $300+ for a stupid PHONE?

when I was in Holland last, my wife and my phones sucked and we have sprint. So maybe stay away from that.

My first cell phone ever was through Sprint, and as soon as the contract was up I switched. I could never get a signal with them and whenever I did have a signal, the calls would drop. Sprint sucks.

I've carried every carrier there is so far and certainly there are limitations to each one, but I personally prefer AT&T. I've always got service with them, and I live in BFE, plus they've never tried to screw me. Sprint just finished raping me and they have shitty service, I don't feel like T-Mobile is even a factor anymore, and personally verizon has always been cockblocks with prices too high and when you have to call customer service, they're not nice peoples. I'd go prepaid if I were you and you weren't going to use it a whole lot. My :twocents:

sprint has a unlimited data plan for 43 a month...

its any mobile anytime.... so if you call nothing but mobile phones... its free..

you get 450 landline minutes. but unlimited text pics and data. if you like to surf the web and check sports scores and email and CC and what not... that is for you.

id say get that plan and the HTC hero... because its like an iphone but without all the hype.

the hero i think its 180 bux after rebates... i havent checked in a while...

but make sure you get sprint service where you live... verizon cant touch that plan for the price... so... just check and see.
