if u want power do not buy a jackson racing supercharger for your car.......youll just be blowing all that money away on just a lil bit of a power gain and still get beat by b16s on a 55 shot of nitrous and what did they pay? 500 bux for a kit........so i would go turbo.....just buy a turbo kit with a small turbo that way it still has good drivability and instant spool

He doesnt want a huge amount of power. If you look at his other posts he wanted some power gains and good drivability, which a supercharger kit offers.

311civicsi, its not at all necessary to run a bigger exhaust, but you would see more power gains with a 2.5" setup.

anyhow back on topic, the jrsc will make the car fun to drive to be honest, now don't expect it to be a rocketship but it will be more fun to drive and it will have that oh so sweet sound of a s/c, either way turbo or s/c your car will be more fun to drive

i want daily driveability and reliability.. I look into turbo and vortech, but seem like jackson racing supercharger seem to be what i need. I want power, but at the same time daily driver and something that won't f**k up my engine...want my engine to last...is there anything out there that is reliable??
a turbo is just as reliable as a supercharger

it doesnt matter if you add hp with a turbo or s/c, the motor will lose reliability.
you are demanding more from the motor, it will wear down quicker, and your gas mileage will suffer

if you want a reliable daily driver... leave it stock.....

a turbo setup vs a s/c setup pushing the same power will be equally UNRELIABLE... i have no clue where people get the idea that a s/c is more reliable... all your motor knows is that more air is being pushed in, it doesnt give a f**k what setup is pushing the air

if anything the s/c runs on belts that will wear down bearings quicker and is concidered a parasitic power gain
the turbo is being ran by expelled exhaust gasses

yeah ive seen jrsc's on si's with bolt ons putting down 200whp-215whp running 6-8psi. you can only pusy the supercharger so far until it becomes inefficent and just creates more heat. Have u seen endyns modified jrsc supercharger? there sick

:???: :???:

Creates more heat than what?

when you compress a gas it creates heat. When you compress quantity X to Ypsi the heat will be the same regardless of whether it's being compressed by a supercharger or turbocharger. A turbocharger doesn't compress air to a lower temperature by magic or any other method. In fact when you factor in bleed over heat, a turbo will actually be slightly hotter.

A turbo or centrifugal supercharger (or roots type on a T-bird supercoupe) gives you the option of cooling that charge somewhat with an intercooler but then you have issues with plumbing it all in, leaks, etc.... So much fro simplicity on a street car.

The jrsc works well for me. I just wanted a little more power and keep the driveabillty for commuting. I'm sure I could get a lot more power with a turbo set up, but this is all I need. Plus I found my kit for $900 >` . Can't really complain about that.
