yeah we usually go with autopower roll cages as well but have yet to see a decent install with the interior panels not taken out....it takes us about an hour to install the cage with no interior panels...cus auto power fits pretty damn good
i wont bullshit you.. it was really one of the most pain in the ass things i can remember doing.. but i have a trick to make it perfect EVERY time.. my way is time consuming but PERFECT....
1) remove all interior around the project (front seats, center consol, rear panels rear seats etc).... test fit cage, mark and drill holes test fit with bolts. remove cage
2) you need a length of PVC that is small enough in diameter that it fits SNUGLY into the post that projects off the main hoop to the feet.push it as far into the post as you can and then cut it short enough that you can clear the interior panel...
3) put ONE side interior panel back in
4) you will now put the cage BACK in the car... you will mount 3 of the four points. on the fourth point you will have the pvc pipe.. you will have this on the same sidfe that the one interior panel is on... with three of the four points mounted, i then telescoped out the pvc till it hit the interior panel.. the reason i went through alll this trouble is so i could see EXACTLY where to make the hole.. you then mark around the pvc.
5) take cage back out for like the 50th time.. lol drill your hole with A FINE TOOTH hole saw... i used a hole saw that was only SLIGHTLY bigger than the tubing, because my pvc method gets you the EXACT position of the hole, you can make it tighter without fitment issues....
6) repeat for the other side then you gotta work on getting the backseats in which is tough...
the best part is if you pad the bar (like you should) (like im going to) you wont even see the hole at all because the padding is larger than the hole.. but even wihtout the padding it loks really good..
if you have any questions on this just post them up.. oh one other thing.. we couldnt find the correct diameter pvc, so we had to sand down a piece.. its CRUCIAL that it pit the hole snugly so it will give you an accurate inication of where to drill...
and it helps to have some good friends help out, wihtout the help of two really good friends (alex, and ben.. lol) i probably would have given up on it... it was defiantely a pain in the balls...
