I hate to disapoint you but im pretty sure that the 92 si didnt come with vtec i might be mistakin. I looked the car up on kbb and the 92 si just says 1.6 sohc, but the 93-95 si all say 1.6 16v sohc vtec? corect me if im wrong.

And the coffee can is classic hahaha!

well i checked on here on the CIVIC SPECS buttion at the top and it says that the 92-95 (gen5) has a 1.6sohc vtec............they came up with the vtec in 92......i think.......so why the hell would they not put it into thier top model car? I know they put it into thier 92 ex's........a friend had one one time, but was an auto so he sold it.....but anyhow....yeah....

Jeez you guys get your facts straight. A D16Z6 motor is vtec whether the valve cover says it or not. If it's got the code on there, it's VTEC unless the previous owner is a complete whackjob and put a non-vtec head on it, which isn't possible because no one is that stupid. And yes, it's an Si. Si hatchbacks were an option in canada for the 5th gen model year, and all of them were SOHC VTEC. The only other engine option here for those years was a D15B7 or the D15 VTEC-E in the Civic VX model
