I have that same steering wheel (but black stitching) .. I've put on 1100 or so powersteeringless KM with it so far and its been fine, I wish it was 350mm though not 320mm.. Also mine isnt a QR hub..

Use the krylon plastic paint. I used on my plastic pieces, and I noticed it does adhere a LOT better than regular paint!

My factory one had been painted, it's paint never flaked, all I can say is do it with a D/a with some 320 grit for a while until all the divets are gone and then, depending on what type of plastic it is made out of, it may have to have an adhesion promoter or primer. But I like it better.
