you must be pullin the words residential and business outa your ass because they sure as hell didnt come from me. i race stoplight to stoplight on beltline all the time, around 2-3am, the speedlimit is 65 and you cant see any cars for miles.

the first post didnt mention a road at all yet you nagged on him for doing it in a residential.... beltline is a freeway a mile or so from my house that i used as an example for stoplight racing on a 65mph road.

you're saying you've never gotten to 85mph? can your car even do 85 at the track? would you volunteer for a 65mph governer since you never speed?

street racing is fun untill you realize how dangerous it is by having to pull someone out of their car because their legs are shattered because they wrapped their car around a tree. go to the track its not worth it

since when did i hate on civics? i said they are slow... and unless you spend thousands on performance parts and a new motor they are.... that's not hating... that's the 106hp, 17second 1/4mile reality of %90 of the civics on us roads

thats not true at all... if you get an old hatch and swap engine and turbo you can get a 12 for under 10 grand

like i said, the motor will cost a couple grand alone, the swap another grand and in the end you're left with a 15year old car and you've put way more money into it than it's worth.

dont forget about the 99-00 civic si. doing 15s in the 1/4, spend another 1k and it will hit 14s. you can also go the cheap route and get n2o, 75shots of n2o on a DX will get you into 14s, no problem and thats just spending less then $1k.

the same could be said about a geo metro with n2o, that's nothing impressive. and just fyi a high 15seconds isnt considered fast...
look at the srt4, high 13's low 14's bone stock.... there's only 2 honda's that can touch that stock, the s2k and the nsx. even the brand new si's would take 3k atleast to be running comparable times and the srt4 costs less to begin with.

you can spend thousands to swap a motor into an old econobox.... but like i said... you'll be left with an old car that isnt worth what you put into it....

hmm, what kind of car do you have..? from the looks of your sig have a civic...

since the 90s car manufactures have been making cars faster and faster every year. civic are out of date and not meant to be fast but most of us like our civic because thats all what we can afford. most of us make our car as a hobby. i would take a import car over a domestic any day.
