What is the difference between wanting a louder intake and a louder BOV? They both regard a noise factor, and you are concerned about the noise output that is created by it. Instead of asking which BOV is the loudest, why don't you try asking which BOV is the best? If you are all concerned about noise, then what are you classified as when pertaining to a question like this?

If you want the loudest BOV, go with a Turbo XS RFL because it is one of the loudest. But it's also the crappiest piece of s**t in the BOV industry. Show me one person who has put down impressive numbers with REAL boost, using the only BOV line up that features washers and a bedspring to adjust valve tension. You won't find any because the people who put down good numbers in turbo'd Honda's are smart. Smart people research. Research leads to straying away from crappy parts like Turbo XS BOV's. [Soap box mode off]

With that said, I will recommend one kick ass BOV that looks pimp, sounds pimp, will handle any type of boost you throw at it, and has been tried and proven with the DSM, MKIV Supra, and now finally the Honda guys::
The Tial BOV. 50mm valve (largest on market which means largest area of released air at discharge), and a 360 radius release (which means it doesn't discharge from just one side like all other BOV's), which in turn means loud. It's probably the pimpest sounding BOV by my likings by far. Sounds like an extremely loud crack of a whip at a WOT shift. The best part about it, is that it holds boost (30psi is no problem for these BOV's).
i was just using the intake as an example, and yes i would like to know what a quality bov is, and also what the louder of them are, to re-phrase my question, i love the bov sound, there is a wrx round here by me that damn near pierce's your ear everytime he shifts, the tial bov does it have that lil chirp to it, cause thats NOT what i'm looking for i.e. greddy's bov

i have a turbo xs rfl on my my car. It is really loud, almost too loud at times if you can believe that. I am looking into getting a different one or putting the stock recirculating valve back on. BTW best out there I know of is Worx dual stage and Forge Dual stage.

But then again there are days where i love it...

The Tial BOV's do have a chirp sound to them, because they surge at partial throttle releases (which is okay). They seem to have a chirp sound to them with lower boost apps as well. With higher boost, you get a clean, "neumatic", whip cracking sound. HKS Racing Type-II's sound very similar and perform similar as well. I'd consider those two the best on the market right now.

The HKS Super Sequential/SSQV has a high pitched chirp with the stock insert. HKS sells 2 other different inserts (a gold and a purple) which generate different sound than the stock one. If you're gonna go GReddy, try going with the new RS valve. I've heard good things about them performance wise (many improvements over the Type-S, such as stronger diaphram), and they sound better than the Type-S as well.

If you want a BOV that will make due, go with a stock 1G DSM BOV. When crushed, they can hold over 20psi and sound very much like a Type-S BOV. Best thing about them is that you can get one for about $40 off of a DSM owner. ;)

I was going to recommend going with a crushed 1G DSM BOV, but I remembered this thread is about noise, not function. :???:
I had a 1G DSM BOV, crushed/plugged, on my Merkur XR4Ti. At 24psi boost, drop off the throttle, and it got very loud, and even chirped sometimes, when the valve would slam open/closed at a high rate of speed..
Still, the loudest I've owned was the TurboXS H-RFL..

far from ricer pal, i could understand you saying that if i was asking which intake would make my crossover louder, i'm sure thats a question that ppl would like to know, nothing quite as sweet as a bov sound as you pass by someone talking s**t, so keep you gay ass comments to yourself f**k
hahahahaha.. this question is no different than a ricer intake crossover question. the LOUDNESS of the bov doens't make your car any faster and has no corelation to reliability.. your just trying to show off. why not add a ricer body kit to show off.

i guess my car isn't as fast because im using a quieter 1g dsm bov. therefor you'd automatically win the race i guess

grow up kid. no need to argue about my little comments

no where in any of my statements did i say that i expected it to be faster or that i would win over someone w/ a quiet bov, simple question only needed a simple answer, no one else that posted seemed to think it was a ricer question, and you couldn't give me a body kit for free, and as far as KID goes why don't you check your stats before you try to pull rank i'm 4 yrs older than you fuk you want some left over huggies to throw in your backpack 4 school, mommy get ya your car and a turbo??? so in turn U Grow up , u can't even get into a bar yet so talk later and i'll get ya a beer

hehe don't worry about it man. no harm done. i think i just wanted to make sure you knew that sound didn't corelate to quality, reliability, or performance of the bov. the greddy S is a nice bov you'll be happy with it.
goodluck with the kit.
