My LS/VTECH isn't kickin in properly, when I get to about 45-4600 RPMs it somewhat kicks in. The Engine bogs down (still accelerate) but bogs the engine down but when I get to 55-5600 RPMs my VTECH properly.. Anyone out there have any idea what could be the root of this problem is??:?::?::???:

I don't know about fixing your vtecH phone, but if you want help fixing your vteC motor... i'm hearing fuel issues. Did you build it yourself or did you buy it this way? Fuel and tuning is most likely the problem based on the little info you have posted.

Alaska already told you what it was. Fuel issues and/or tuning. Prob mixture of both in my opinions. Make sure your injectors are large enough and have someone go over your tune.

Check oil level and/or maybe your oil line is too thin. If the line is thin its restricting oil. No oil no, VTEC

Plug From Wall? I'm sorry but I admit, That Flew Over My Head..
lmfao....................they are just messing with you bro......vtech is a company that make kid toys n house hold electronics....remember next time no h in vtec..............

your problem sounds like it could be a tuning issue because my cousin has a lsv ek and we had a similar issue in his car ended up needing to be retuned,......

his car would pull fine even though vtec wasnt engaging but it would hit a rev limit of 7k

More Post Then Advice... Getting Discouraged...
Make sure that vtec is wired into your harness.. You could have started with a non vtec block, then added a vtec head and didn't wire in vtec to the harness. Happens when someone half asses a swap.

Lol.. Leave then. Make sure that vtec is wired into your harness.. You could have started with a non vtec block, then added a vtec head and didn't wire in vtec to the harness. Happens when someone half asses a swap.
and exactly how do you not have vtec wired in but it clearly says it works just not right. its something with tuning or oil like stated. and of course they started with a non vtec block and added a vtec head........
unless you call a gsr or b16 an LS/V which would be totally wrong

Well the more and more I talk and get replies on this subject, I'm thinking the person I bought it from never tuned it after installing the engine 80% "Half Ass"..

You need to figure out exactly what has been done to this engine, you may just have a dip in torque (like most untuned vtec crossovers) or something else. Usually any issue that would keep VTEC from not working will throw a code (oil pressure, not @ temp etc).

He clearly said it works? Idk. I can barely understand what he's saying in the first place, who even knows if it's kicking or not, I wouldn't trust what this person is saying, especially when he can't spell vtec.. Lol

OP, could you clarify your original post? From what I got out of it, Vtec isn't working properly until about 5500RPM? What ECU are you running? Depending on the ECU and how it was (or wasn't) tuned, Vtec by default engages at ~5300 RPM with a P28 ECU. Honestly it could just be the tune or lackof that's causing the issue.

If you're not sure, consult the previous owner. Find out the ECU (or just pop open the kick panel and check), and find out who did the swap, problems they ran in to, etc.

Also, take a look at this thread on HT, it might help: http://honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=2711306

when you build a Ls/vtec swap or any swap similar you need to add oil spitters because vtectakes more oil than non vtec motors ,if you dont you'll be burning oil alot and the swap wont last very long.
