This is further evidence that we need to follow the example of communities and states that have reduced violent crime by upholding the Second Amendment. We all know that criminals, and the unbalanced, will never obey the law. We need to stop creating "designated victim zones", where law-abiding (licensed/permitted) citizens who are otherwise allowed to protect themselves are denied their right to do so. Schools and churches are frequent targets because criminals know the inhabitants are forced to be defenseless. Nobody goes on the offensive at gun shows, hunting clubs, or NRA meetings. Why can't we simply uphold the Constitution, thereby reducing these senseless acts?

I understand that those among you who would like to see all of the power in the hands of the government, and none in the hands of the people, will make some feeble argument. Quite simply - if you fear freedom, move to a country that already has an oppressive government.

Nothing is going to stop s*** like this from happening. I am 100% for the second amendment BUT, quite literally the only way to stop people from shooting each other is to get rid of firearms altogether, which will never happen. I am not an anti weapon person by any stretch of the imagination, I enjoy shooting guns and such. It is a sad fact that this will happen again, just like Columbine, just like Virginia Tech, the movie theatre shooting, that mall in Portland last week, Newtown, and the dozens inbetween. The best we can do is keep our guard up, our eyes open and pray we make it through each day. Im sorry if that sounds harsh, especially to you parents and the parents of the children lost, but that is the truth.

edit: My heart does go out to those who lost loved ones before their time, I do not want to sound like a heartless prick. I can just see this exploding into a giant argument that will accomplish nothing.

Turns out Lanzas brother was found shot to death at the home...
It was the mom that was shot at the house. The brother doesn't live in that area and had nothing to do with it. Was on the press release this morning.

He wasn't let into the school either, he shot his way in.

Turns out it was the mom that owned all the guns and that she wasn't even a teacher at the school. She didn't even have a job from what the older brother was saying. She and the shooter lived off $240k a year alimony from the dad.

They still don't know what his connection to the school was.
