5th gen hatch and 6th gen coupe are duh best. there's a thread about this already though with a poll and all

hatches are great in my opinion. ive driven 5th gen hatch/coupe/sedan and hatch wins hands down. im not too fond of 5th gen coupe/sedans, but i do like 99-00 coupes. but back to hatches, they are superior for my needs in every way: fun to drive, clean style, and lots of function (the hatch has swallowed everything i have shoved in it, including a 600lbs bbq!)

Lemme first state that i dislike all sedans, thats just me though... They are heavy and 2-doors just look so much sportier... I dont like any 4th gens cuz they are really boxy... I like 5th gen hatches and coupes alot... They are both equal for me... The only reason i have ruled out the coupe completely was because it doesnt fit me needs... I needed the cargo space cuz i havta haul my drumset around to practices for my band, and soon to shows (im in a local band)... And theres noway in hell my drumset would fit in a coupe... 6th gens are cool, not too fond on the 96-98 front end, but i love the 99-00 front end, but i like both coupes and hatchies of the 6th generation... and 7th gens, um... i dont really like a whole lot, their styling just doesnt go with me... My mom has a 7th gen (03 hybrid - sedan... they only make the hybrid in sedan) and its cool, but i wouldnt want one as my own... The hybrids are cool, my mom drove it all the way from rancho cucamonga (where i live) to julian (san diego area)... which is like a 3 hour drive... drove around there, and came back on half a tank (6 gallons)... averaged 50mpg the whole way (the guage cluster has a thing that tells you your current and average gas mileage)... And personally i hate driving that car, it may be because its an auto, but its just really slow... Its like im used to my car which has good pickup... besides i get in hers and i start tryin to push the clutch that doesnt exist

the 99-00 coupe's are the best so far, imo, it's the sleek streamlines, clean taillights, factory kit that's good, when lowered, looks better than any hatch i've seen.

i love the 99-00 coupes thats why i have one but the 5th and 6th gen hatchs dont look bad either. just prefer the coupes, but if i had the money to buy both i would.

ok, after all i have a 98 coupe... i love the car... but hey let me state my opinion. I have major beef with honda on the issue of sedans. When honda makes a sedan (example-the 96-00), for some reason, they always give it (the heavier car) the weaker motor... Do people with sedans like weak motors?? i dont know. They also give the sedan a less-cool look. Look at the ass end of the new accord... the coupe looks bitchin, and the sedan looks like a grandma car!!! Why? Im betting honda would sell alot more sedans if they changed their thought process. Look at cars like the lancer and the wrx... they can have four doors, look great, and be FAST AS s**t. There is just something comfortable, and practical about a sedan. My friend has a corolla, and all though it isnt a performer.. there is something comfortable about being able to just go open up the door and sit down... its just so simple and nice... and its a feeling i didnt experience until i owned a coupe... As it relates to civics, id take my two-door any day over there sedan, but i thought id use this thread as a chance to b***h and complain... thank you

It wasn't always that way. The fifth gen sedan (EX) had the same D16Z6 that the EX coupe and Si hatch sported, weighed about the same as a coupe AND had 4 wheel disc brakes with anti-lock that the coupes rarely and hatchies never had. IMO the sedan doesn't look so bad either and I smoked a brand new EX coupe even though I spotted him 2 hp.

Still, based on style alone, next car is a coupe...

it depends on the gen... 5th gen... the hatch by far... but 6 gen... the coupe... out of the two.. i think i would go with the coupe

Id have to say i love 5th gen hatchs the most... thats why i bought one. The 6th gen coupes look sicky too.

I've got a sedan but i've always loved the sleek lines of the coupe. I have a soft spot for 5th gen coupes tho I think 99-00 r very hot. Being a sedan owner i like em for the economical reason, and they r very comfortable. But w/ the right color and the right amount of mods they can look pretty pimp too. I feel us sedan owners have to work almost twice as hard to make em look hot but hey shes still a civic and at the end of the day she's my civic so i always have love for em. Hatches are fun but i do feel like theyre only half a honda maybe bcuz they really are...
