my 1st car

this is the car i was talking about where the front lights dried red, you cant really tell in the photo but you can tell when you turn on the headlights. it does have some cosmetic flaws but for a 1st car i think its pretty decent. the 1st thing i plan on doing is an engine swap. since its a DX it only has like 102whp stock.. its still loads of fun to drive but i just think it needs an upgrade. from there ill probably do a manual conversion.. then its on to a front/rear bumber and a paint job. i would get side skirts but i havent ran accross any that i like.

any suggestions on some dope front/rear bumbers?

by the way, i paid $2000 for it. the interior is PERFECT.

im on the south side of indy. but yes stay away from body kits most of them just make the car look horendous. as for your motor, most hondas will smoke then u shift especially when u get on it. other than that if you dont have a rod knocking or its not constantly smoking it could really be anything. if you wanna pull the motor and do a motor swap u could most ppl do B-series swap but since thats so common any more im keeping my Single Cam and building it.

ah, im east.. yeah i was thinking of doing a b16 or b18 swap. do you think i should go ahead and get the lips and everything else and just wait to do the engine swap?

also, are there any meets that go on in indy? - ive never heard of one going down anywhere around here.

My buddy has this on his black civic and it looks really clean and nice. I want it(:

And aout the CF, I'm not sure about on a black car... sometimes it looks funny because the colors are really close but different at the same time... I've been to a couple meets and I don't believe I've seen any black civics with CF hoods. But it's your car dude, you do what you want(:

And don't do a B16; if you're going to spend money on an engine swap. Do the B18. Go big or go home(:

I love that site(: You can always eBay or Craigslist too.

And yeah it does, I was just saying I personally think a B18 is a better investment versus a B16. And yeah, also Craigslist that too.

Depends on which B18 you go. B18B's (Integra LS) will be around 145 or so, where B18C1 (GSR) is 170, and B18C5 (Type-R) is like 195ish. B18B's are the most common B18 swap because they're cheaper and more reliable, and go very well with boost.

what are the chances of me finding one of these at a pick-a-part/pull-a-part? lmao

B18b's or B18a's come out of the lower trim line integra ls's and can be found relatively easily. I don't trust junkyard motors further than i can throw them.

You can find a swap for around a grand and still have the motor in great shape and reasonably low miles.

i agree about the junkyard, but they got like a 5-day warranty at the one that is near me.. i could get it, come home, swap em, and if something is wrong with it i could take it back and get my money back.. but i might not even waste my time.

Isn't there somewhere where you can get motors from Japan with low miles? I was hearing that Japan has a law that they can have only so many miles on their cars then they have to get new engines. So they ship them to here and people get them cheap.

yours looks pretty good. just go with a lip kit, oem fogs. im planning on getting a wrecked teggy from an insurance company or someone that wrecked one before the ins. company sends them to the scrap yard. its only a couple hundred. and a complete swap for interior, engine, trans, and rear disc conversion.
