Well in my opinion drag racing is boring. You stand in line for like 2-3 hours for $50. And your runs are 16 seconds long!

WHereas you pay $20 for autocross and get 3-5 runs and it's $1-10 for fun runs. And courses are like 40-90 seconds long.
I totally agree with that I can't stand drag racing..to me speeding straight down a lane is not to much fun...

You can bolt it to the rear seats underneath the top and bottom cushions. Not the best setup, but still safe.

A question that maybe you can help lead me in the right direction... since you actually do some racing. Would the Tein SS be an ok autoxing coilover and daily use. Or would I rather be off with Koni yellows and ground controls (kinda similar to your setup)? How is the ride in your ride, rough, bumpy, smooth?

Lots of people seem to swear by Tein. Even though they don't have them or have not done much with them but lower them to accomodate for the wheel gap.

My car will be daily driven. I like to have some spirited driving but not at the expense of killer spring rates that will be hammering the pavement through my body. And I've mentioned before, I'd like to give some runs at Solo II as well, though not seriously competitive. I'm not much a complainer and can live with some compromises, hell I still have a stock radio, because I rather save that money for something like a good suspension setup.

So, do you think the Tein SS will better suite me or a setup similar to yours? I know they range in the same prices as well, so this shouldn't really put costs as being a factor.

Another thing is Koni has life time warranty on their shocks and they can be sent in to be revalved... something I don't know if Tein would do. This put good shocks like Koni yellows paired with good springs almost on par with true coilover designs.

A cheaper alternative I was considering is H&R sports with Koni yellows. Or maybe even the H&R race springs. So any inputs??

im building my car for the autoX. i just bought my TEIN SS's a few months ago.i havent raced them yet. other than a straight line, but im confident wioth them.we'll find out how my driving is,lol.i ride them pretty hard on the street and their amazing. ride like stock or smoother if you choose. until your corner its razor sharp.i swear by them.sorry to butt in.but theyre the best investment i put into the car."just my 2 cents"

I don't know the spring rates of the Teins to give you any info. I'm running 350f/400r and it's a bit rough for PA roads, but you gotta do what wins. I know guys running 500f/600r springs in a lighter car than me!

I went with this setup compared to complete coilover kits due to Koni's warrenty and everyone in my class uses them. This year I'm actually might try 450f/500r. DOn't know yet until I get a second car so I have kidneys when I'm older =)
