A) You have heard of searching through junkyards right? They're a cheap & easy source. The main source I used was Certi-Fit out of Miami. Check them out. They have really really good OEM parts for cheap prices. Then when I got everything (took about 2-3 months to complete rebuild) I assembled it and made sure everything worked. The hardest part was the airbag system. That was a b***h. I found 3 crashed S2K's with the airbags (or at least 1) still intact but only 1 of the 3 matched my interior color. Painting was simple because my dad used to buy cars, rebuild them, and sell them so he taught me how to prep the body & paint the whole thing.BIGPETE said:(A)
One problem is with your math, Their is no way in hell that $5,000 would come close to repairing the damaged parts (the stock ones) alone. Even at cost and less the rebuild labor even if talking about a serious hookup. (My conservative estimates above don't even include labor)

You make no mention of any suspension damage. Is this an oversight or did the car go into a rail at 45 + and suffer no damage to the suspenion.
i think he was jus wondering how it could be physically possible to have that much damaged on the car... and no suspension damage03_S2K said:B) I didn't know suspension was so important to you. I'm sorry. Next time I buy a f**ked up car, I will let you know how the suspension is doing on it.
Thank you thats exactly my point. I was just curious because his cost seemed really low compared to extremely conservative estimates on my part. My rational behind the lack of presented damage suspension damage was that a few years ago I was in the process of buying my buddies mustang that had subsquently been converted as much as possible into a 351 Saleen. 2 weeks before I was sign the note and take possession of the car he had spun the car on black ice and took a hit into a guardrail and it was more than $3,000 in suspension work alone ( yes I realize the car is also significantly more expensive than a S2K , but you see my point.)true said:i think he was jus wondering how it could be physically possible to have that much damaged on the car... and no suspension damage
Are you talking about that kid, Brandon's car? Pewter '01 I think.... He's about to sell it now because he left it in public parking overnight in the middle of Baltimore. All of his little top of the line stff was stolen. Can't remember what it all was, mostly a head unit and different things to measure what's happening to the car. (STOCK car btw - unless you count that stufff and 18" SSRs.) Daddy bought it for him anyway. Oh, he told me that a truc tried to push him off the road once too and that's why he had panels replaced and repainted on the passenger's side. I wiped his car down with detail spray one night because it was so dusty that it was making my Civic look bad. There were swirls and overspray and a nice (shallow) dent in the front.sihondatech said:I put the engine in that car with deisel fuel.It had 2 bent connecting rods , 1 broken piston, 3 damaged cylinders. can u say stooooooopid!!!!!
