lol.... thanks for the info guys... guess im stuck with an engine not ment to race.... cuz i was testing my driving and the car very thoroughly today and when i slowed down and drove normally on the feeder at around 55.... the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT went off!!... man... i was like... WHOW!!!..... first thing i did pulled into a gas station... looked at the engine bay for leaks... nope.. no leaks... looked at everything else... nothing seemed wrong with it... car sounded normal... but i was still scared... so i was goin under the speed limit all the way home with no AC and CDplaya off.......

yup... i am saving up for a swap...... see... heres my plan.... i found a junkyard willing to give me a d16z6 engine and transmission for my d15z5 =) (moron) eh ... anyways.... im gonna go from a shitty lil 1.5L d15 (no offense fellow d15's) to a 1.6L VTEC.... and when i have enough money ill hopefully get a B series..... most likely B18C1 .... =) ....how many here have a d16z6 hatch?.... if so how is it?... and how fast have u hit on it?

I would just get a D16Y8 or Z6 and keep it. They will make your hatch do pretty well....especially because it is light. If you want to spend the money....and It would be worth it...get a 2nd gen B16, or maybe a first gen B16 if you want to go hyrdo to cable tranny. I think for your cause a B16 would be better.

D16Z6 is a SOHC.... and im gonna keep it until i have enough money to get a B18C1.... or... should i just work on the D?.... what do u guys think?

Bottom line is you can't beat a B, they are just better than a D. You can however build a really fast D series...just have to do a little more shopping around for parts. I have seen turbo D's run in the 11's and 12's. In your case I would stick with the 1.5 till you have enough money for a B16A or a B18C1.

i say build up the z6 ... i might do the same swap on my 91 4 door one of these days.

If ya autocross a vx hatch....powa don't matter. Bad ass suspention and IHE with some Azenies and ur good to go!

i wish i could autocross... but i dont know where to go or how to learn... what i REALLY want to do is to race on the man made tracks for test driving.... if they oppened something like that here... it'd b cool... but yeah but im gonna try to look into it

Check your plugs. My EX did that for a while. 1st and 2cnd were fine, but third seemed to lack power. I tried everything except my plugs cuz they were brand new so I never thought to check them. The tips were gone in cylinder 1 and 2. 3 and 4 were fine. Weird thing is it still ran a 16.3 stock with a filter.
