Well I got some paint supplies for the rims, went to the junkyard this morning & picked up 2 front door panels for $20 that match & are in better shape than the ones I have now, sometimes in the heat you can see bubbles in the vinyl & my armrest just split open a week ago. Total spent $40 for all but will need more paint to finish the rims, hope they turn out good, gonna start with the worst one first then post pics of the before & after.

Here is the progress on one wheel so far, here are the rims in question.

All the other lips look great but this one has some rash, this is the worst one.

So here is is with clear coat scuffed with the scotch pad.

Masked off.

Adhesion promotor on after 3 coats.

Now waiting for it to dry then I'll give you part II.

Ok so here it is drying at the moment, this is after 1 coat.

2nd coat, more coverage.

3rd coat of black, this is after 5 mins of drying, I'm still putting clear on it to protect it.

This is only one, so I have to repeat this process 3 more times, lol!

Black and White for rims is the only colors I will paint any rims. Good choice on black. Im digging the look on the rims too.

Well I might get lower springs for the front but the rear is where I want it, I'll get a little lower with these 16's since I have 17's now, still need to get new tires for those rims.

Went to clear & ran into a problem, it started to wrinkle, now need to let it dry & sand it back down & start over. :(

Read the directions on the cans, there is probly a specific window of time that you have to spray the clear, after you paint.

I just read one of the clearcoat cans I have, it didn't say a time to spray after painting, but it did say to spray more coats within 30 mins or after 48 hrs, so maybe its the same 48 hrs after painting.

I like what I see with the de-ricing ;).

Good stuff! :thumbs up. Those wheels don't actually look all that bad. What size tires are you planning on running?
