its probably the real deal since its harder to get replica kits in japan than the real ones
I can't see how that could be true. People don't make replica kits because they're JDM knockoffs .... they make them because the real ones are f**king spendy. Just look at Veilside Japan or Bomex or Back Yard Special .... even in Japanese prices (you know, the price people in JAPAN would pay), you're looking at $1000+ front bumpers.

Because he's styled his car after an american craze? The stock car was JDM. Now it's just a travesty.

In short - it's a JDM car with USDM modifications.
actually the only thing USDM on it is the lambo doors. the kit is bomex which is a japanse brand.

you say its a JDM car with USDM mods.
so im assuming the reverse is true for your honda...its a USDM car with JDM mods....

i promised the moderator i would be done with this topic, so i am.

back on topic...the integra.

Hit the nail on the head. Most Honda-Heads in the states are inspired by the Japanese factory stylings, and most Honda-Heads overseas (not just Japan) are inspired by the American aftermarket.

Oh, and like my friend Zol said .... Bomex is the rice of JDM. There are plenty of Japanese manufacturers that make kits that actually compliment stock body lines - Mugen, BYS, Top Fuel, Azect, Bugspo, C-West, HiRO, Seargent, Act Sports, Rando Sports, Aero Over. The list goes on.

But yes, back to the integra. Seems like a lot of money was put into it, but it's still ugly, IMO. Lambo doors, no matter how well done, never seem to work quite right. On his car, the headlights don't seem to line up with the "bomex" bumper. And stereo systems are fine for show .... but they're just not my cup o tea.

completely false. you have such a wild imagination of what japan is like lol. its amazing since you have never lived here. i can speak for the US becasue i from there. i live in NJ
first off the japanese people are big on respect. you dont go into a tuning shop and when u ask about kits they offer knockoffs. it just dosnt happen. you are only shown the real thing. its all you know.

now if you wanted im sure you could go thru the states and get a knock off and spend an assload to get it shipped to japan. but that dosnt happen either.

here, if you dont have the money to get a mod you dont get the mod. its really as simple as that. the US is big on instant gratification. not the japanese.
when i wanted to got the cwest sideskirts and rear bumper, i told the shop owner what i wanted and he pulled out the cwest catalog. not the VIS catalog, or direct me to bodykits.com.

and yes they do make kits that are jdm knockoffs. the word "JDM" sells stuff in america becasue its a trendy term.

what civic did the amber corners come off of? they seem pretty popular and if i can get my hands on some i may start making a small fortune
They're aftermarket. Commonly found on eBay as smoked corners.

LOL@ "jdm bumper parking poles and wakaba badges". thats hilarious dude!

you know the only people who put those ghey parking poles on their cars here are old people, and the guys who are into the VIP 4 door saloons.l
What's even funnier is the guy you're responding to has EXTRA wakaba badges.

what body kit would "flow" with the lines of the car?
Mugen, C-West, Backyard Special/AirWalker (if they have that one for Integras).
Nine78Guy said:
good waste of a jdm front end..but its not that bad.
A lot of the JDM Integras actually have the "USDM" front end. It came stock on many different trims, and seems more common on the earlier years of the 3rd gen Integra. For example, the Si VTEC came with the round lights, but the later trim, the SiR-G came with the long rectangular headlights. I prefer the rectangular ones over the round ones because the rectangular ones are more in accordance with Honda heritage imo. (They look more like a traditional Honda front end.) =)
SXE-10 said:
no its jdm. it has all the factory "jdm" parts you talked about that make a car "jdm". the one piece headlights, the silly clock, the H badges, the RHD, power folding mirriors.
how are you gonna say a honda integra from japan isnt "jdm" LOL
It might be JDM, but it's still riced out too. Sure, it's not the worst rice in the world, but it's still ricey. I like the black and red, but I think the wheels would look better if they were of a beefier design. I mean larger spokes, but on the same sized wheel, or not too much larger. Then lose the bodykit for one of the ones I listed above and it's look hot imo. :thumbs up

Same thing happens in shops over here. When you go into an actual BUSINESS .... they generally only stock the real thing, because they don't get wholesale prices. Selling the ACTUAL product is just as lucrative as selling a knockoff. Same amount of markup. Just because you can't find knockoffs in a shop does not mean they don't have them in Japan. I don't have a "wild imagination" .... I just know how business is done.

For the most part, that would be fine with people.... except for the horrible 1.3-1.5L SOHC motor, the sloppy suspension, and the ugly wheels. Throw a lip on it, a swap, performance suspension, some nice 15" wheels, and you're golden. The tuner scene has changed over here. Show is out. There's still a few stragglers, but for the most part, people actually want their car to be clean and fast.

you know how business is done in america. i have been here 3 years now and have modded a S14 silvia, one R32 skyline, a R33 Skyline, a JZA80 Supra, a EK9 CTR, a DA Xsi Integra, and a Altezza, and every shop i have gone into and every car i have seen had the real parts on them.
i cant even think of where you could go to get a replica kit or part here. it just dosnt happen.
like i said im sure you could go online to get the fake stuff, but no one does. we dont even think about it. we save and get the part from the shop and respective company.
how can you tell me any different bro when i LIVE here. lol

THE INTRENNETZZ. That's where you get good deals on parts. That's where you get knockoffs. Like I said, stores don't make any more money by selling knockoffs. It's actually BAD BUSINESS for a retail location. But maybe I'm wrong .... japanese people don't have ebay.

Honestly, it would sell. JDM is a big selling point.... FOR SOME PEOPLE. Even a lot of people into JDM style car won't be all about your awesome RHD though.

well that would explain why every civic i see looks the same. fun stuff
i went to a HIN when i took leave and went back to NJ and show is definetly not out. but i did see 137,876 versions of the same mods. so i guess you could be right

btw you can have show and go. look at my Altezza. its faster than 95% of the cars on here, has full leather and luxary interior, is clean, full ICE, 19in wheels, kit, a suspension system that rivals an JGTC car...extensive engine mods...its 99% complete.

Parting out a 1.3L (for example) would be difficult in the US. Much less, the parts on the car identical to the JDM parts.
