My Camera just took a s**t.... buying another....

My Canon Powershot A610 just took a s**t after so many years. I guess I'm lucky because it lasted this long. From searching I found that it's a real common problem. A lense for some reason just stops opening on these cameras and other canons as well....

So I have to buy another ASAP! Can you guy's recommend a good cam out there for me to buy? I don't want to go crazy, just something simple like this A610. I have to admit, this canon A610 is an awesome camera. I bought it for around $260 at the time. It's a 5mp and takes pretty nice close up detailed shots. I'm looking for something similar and I remember someone posting that the higher the mp doesn't necessarily mean it's a better camera. Is this true?


I'd appreciate if anyone can give me some suggestions. thanks

The A1100 is a good camera. A friend of mine has that one and the quality isn't all that bad at all. I think the price on that one is pretty good as well, if I remember correctly.

yeah, it's pretty good but it's kinds slow. I want something with a better zoom tho so I'm thinking right now about buying the SX120 IS. It's for $199 and has the kinda zoom I'm looking for. I just read the review for the SX20 IS and it's almost piss poor.
