Cliffs:

My buddy Kyle had over $25k invested into his WRX.
Trades it for an SRT8 Jeep + Cash
Jeep has problems & gets broken into, so he goes to get the key reprogrammed
It ends up being a stolen vehicle, even though VIN comes back clean (read the link for details on why)
Guy who bought the WRX parts it out
SRT is taken by the authorities

Ripped off is such a terrible word to described what just happened here. I was thinking maybe some scumbag on ebay or craigslist didn't want to delieve, but DAMN!. They got him good man. Real good.. Sucks dude.. Mad inside job right there.

wow, so ridiculous... How did the second owner go that long without noticing? Match the vin on the firewall to the vin on the dash... RULE #1 so "owner" 2 will get something for trafficking stolen goods and owner 3 will get nothing.
