SanDawg said:you can get longer hangers so it hangs down lower...that's what i did...but i only did one side of it. u can't tell the difference and no, it's not lopsided. i only bought one hanger and i replaced the left side where the muffler hangs.
mine isn't that far inside under the bumper so it doesn't look awkward...so i can't really say if urs is gonna look the same. but u can give it a try.
Thats a really good idea man! did they have to change the positions of the hangers and stuff or did they just put a different tip on or what?civsedan said:i have the same on my sedan. i had them extend it 2" it looked short like yours. i trust my exhaust people that the welds will be fine. they do all my work.
I dont really know what to do. so far it hasnt f**ked the paint up or anything. but i see what you mean it may be hard when i gte my rear lip. And i was planning on picking one up this summer. Well at least i know its not just my car but a common problem with sedans. if anyone has any more ideas i am all ears!SanDawg said:that sucks if you gotta get a 2" piece of pipe and cut the exhaust to extend it...it's gonna destroy the exhaust being as a whole...but if it helps. function over fashion right.
Hey pop-n-fresh you said you have a magnaflow exhaust on your civic right? Did you have the problem with the short exhaust?pop-n-fresh said:i want snow incredibly bad.....
i'm actually heading up to the pass on friday to go play in the snow
Do you have any ideas of what i should do with my exhaust? Should i get it changed or leave it alone?pop-n-fresh said:actually i have magnaflow on my gsr. it's slightly different then yours but it fits and lines up perfect.
we have tanabe srmi on the civic, but it fits horribly... we need to have it re-hung
Thanks alot man, i'll take it in next week or something. It sounds pretty reasonable. Do the usual mufflers hang out like an 1 or 2 ? cause i'll need to know how much they should weld.pop-n-fresh said:i'd just take it to a muffler shop and have them weld in an extension right behind the muffler and re-hang it.... it wont hurt performance one lil bit and it will only cost $35 or so
Yeah that sounds like it would look pretty sweet being flush like that. so i guess a 2 inch extentsion would do the trick thanks guys!BBProductions said:the exhaust has to stick out past the mubper a little bit...
esp in the winter the heat from the exhaust and coldness from the air will damage your bumper...
just make it where the outlet is flush with the rear edge of your bumper
The exhaust was 692.04 cnd with shipping. not to bad for the other prices i was getting quoted in candian dollars!charles_00Civic said:EWWWWWW... STEELIES! Magnaflow is nice..how much?
With my magnaflow kit there was this extra piece of piping prolly about a foot long that I didnt use because i have the coupe. It is supposed to extend the piping for the four door. Did u use it? Mine Is different than yours in that my tip is exactly even with the rear of the bumper. Also I want the rear N1 section because the canister to the tip doesnt have as big of a lip then the magnaflow does. I believe it will bolt right up as well.Newspeed said:Yeah man i know what you mean, but i also dont know what to do about it? anyone else have a problem like this? is it just too damn short or is that how magnaflow is?
Yeah we used the extra piece too and it still came up short. oh well i will just get someone to weld in a little extra piece. its under the car and no one will see! wish me luck!FhCRubarb said:With my magnaflow kit there was this extra piece of piping prolly about a foot long that I didnt use because i have the coupe.
