:x ok i'm having problems with my turbo setup. i've got a b16a, garrett t3 .50/.48, everything is installed-oil, injectors, etc.. my ecu is socketed and i'm programming with uberdata 1.70. well everything went sour once i put my 450cc DSM injectors in. i made a basemap to run everything, but my car is stalling REALLY bad. Once i start it (if it even starts) it bogs down really bad, barely any throttle response. then if i press the gas reaaaally slowly, it will start to run fine up untill about 3,000 rpm. then it sputters really bad and wont rev up any higher than maybe 4,000rpm. Now... about the injectors... I did the radio shack resistor thing to the 4 injector wires, all my connections are soldered and fine. my injectors are running fine, i took them out while still in the fuel rail and tested them and they squirt fine. i cant figure out what to do about it... i put a fresh set of spark plugs in and they were fouled instantly from running too rich, so i leaned out my map.. still the same problem. can anyone please gimme some help

did you adjust the map to recognice the 450s?

no i haven't put my 2.5 on yet, but are they really necessary just to get the car to run? i thought a higher bar map sensor was just needed when you hit boost...?

i think he's asking if you adjusted your fuel maps (bin) to compensate for the larger injectors.

are you throwing any CEL?

yeah, i adjusted everything in my bin, set everything up for 450's, basically went by sk8shorty017's uberdata write-up on making a basemap. i am baffled... its not possible to mix up the injector wires in the gang plug is it? i cut all four at the same time instead of one-by-one. i thought it wouldn't matter since the plug connects them all anyways..

which wires did you cut?

the order is extremely important, blue MUST go to blue, etc. There is a firing sequence to them too, so blue 1st, etc. (just an example). As I said, are you throwing any CEL?

well, i didn't cut any blue wires, the only ones i cut were the 4 yellow/black injector wires that all meet in the drivers side shock tower plug. then i spliced the resistors into each wire, just like in that DSM injector how-to using the radio shack resistors. i tried all day today to get it running and had no luck. i think its something in my chip programming.. the car wasn't even responding to any chips i put in. i even made one that had NO fuel, and the car still started and chugged away like every other time i tried starting it. then i made one with a rev limiter set at 1000 rpm's and it still revved over that. do uberdata bin's usually f**k up like this? im using Uberdata 1.70. its like everything i do does nothing. the car still runs waay too rich and fouls up my plugs and stalls and dies. i put a fuel pressure regulator on and the lowest fuel psi i can get is 50psi. maybe im just an idiot at using uberdata, but i've tried just about everything...

are you throwing any check engine lights?

i have a solid CEL when the jumper is connected and trying to run the chip. and i just read that my programming could be the cause for that. i dont think its my socketing/soldering job, i did a very clean job on it, and all connections look good. what is the best uberdata version to use? i noticed if i save the filename different with no extension -for instance: "program" instead of "program.bin" , the chip has somewhat of a response to the car and my check light actually went off.. so that kinda wierded me out and makes me think somethins up with my uberdata program. I'm using the Burn1 Flash-n-burn by the way.. so its got all the automatic hex addresses for my specific chip

I had that EXACT same setup. If your check engine goes off, then whats the prob? You're having problems with the settings working? Do you have a wideband 02?

well if the check light goes off, the car still runs like crap and wont rev past 3500rpm.. it starts sputtering and sounding like the worlds gonna end.. basically all i have on the chip is a stockGSR map fixed for 450's.. do i need to do anything with the ignition part of the map? it sounds like my car is running on 2 cylinders when it starts.

you need to diagnose what CEL your throwing, do you know how? (the paper clip method). IF not, ill explain how. Your running in limp mode, which is why you cant rev past 3,500 rpms. Limp mode is when theres a CEL serious enough to affect the car, so a rev limiter is placed so you dont f**k the car up. Most likely your check engine light is for fuel system, in which case your probably mis-wired something or you need to tune your injectors WAY down.

thats what im thinkin.. but i havent done anything differently than anyone else who's put DSM 450's in their setup... and the CEL, well i cant diagnose it because when i jump the service connector, the CEL stays on, it never goes off when the chip in plugged in.

you musnt be jumping it correctly or something, I had the chip in and jumped it all the time. BTW, for the problem your having is why I removed my turbo kit... :???:

Id recommend rc injectors, thats what im getting the second time around.

thats me btw who added you to my msn.. prolly easier to explain on there. i downloaded a stock bin for a p30 and it looks crazy, the 2D map of the fuel and ignition are all wild looking as opposed to the one of the stockGSR one i was modifying that was all smooth... what does a stock p28 or a stock p30's map look like in uberdata? cuz i think somthins wrong with my chip programming..

just hit me up on msn / aim and well swap some bins.
