... alpines will make the trunk rattle too. that's a ridiculous statement. how much the trunk does or does not rattle has absolutely nothing to do with the way the woofer is going to sound.

I have two IDQ 15s and my trunk rattles like a mofo but the woofers sound fabulous...

I would quit the rattling argument now before you get people hitting you over the head. =)

if you are talking about trunk rattle it is about the actual resonate frequency of your vehicle. I don't know how to explain it but Akiahara96 might since she is the resident guru. But i have heard typr's before and they are nice if coupled with the right enclosure, amp and head unit. If you are going for tight high quality bass go with the sealed enclosure. For loud car alarm killing sound go ported or banpass. I perfer kicker comps with the zr 100 and a pioneer prememer headunit or alpine. that is what my freind had with 4 kicker 12's and it thumped and didn't sould like s**t. No trunk rattle bc it was in a truck. Don't just do subs go with interior components also so you have the total package

you're sending sound waves through your vehicle... it doesn't matter what woofer it is, it's going to vibrate. period.

i ended up getting the audiobahn. i went on sounddomain.com and they recommend the sealed or ported, but the vented box got like a 5 out of 5 rating, and thats what im thinking about getting next, so should i get the vented or sealed??

I still say go with a high quality ported box, cause it seems he only wants LOUD, not clear, so it doesnt really matter...

i don't understand it. Why would you want that in a daily driver? I mean, SPL is great and all... I'm not into baby bump, but you do not have to sacrifice the sound quality to get SPL.. you just have to pay a little bit more and put some effort into it. Unless you're planning on seriously competing with that vehicle (which is so very unlikely, not many do) then a system that is "as loud as possible" is kinda dumb. It's just to show off how loud you are... then someone pulls up next you with s**t that's louder AND sounds nice and is laughing at you.

Go ported with the Audiobahns, a sealed enclosure is pointless.

dude. the hardest hitting subs ever are the Fosgate Power series subs. Get a power 13" woo. Off a p6001 amp! haha i have two p2's of a p3001. I like fosgate. Kicker is a good cheap alternative.

ive already got the audiobahn, it came in yesterday. i went to got get a ported pro box for it , and the dude sold it to me for 80.00 (originally 125.00).. i had to make the hole bigger because the woofer wouldnt fit.. im breaking in the woofer by connecting it to my home stereo and playing songs that has bass in it. it sounds very good. im planning on getting a audiobahn A8000T amp for it, and maybe a pioneer or alpine headunit...
oh and when i went to go get the box the dude took me to his suv to hear what the pro box can do, he only had one 10" Kicker comp VR, a cap, 2 amps, infinity components in kicker door panels, and an equalizer.. and man that system sounded really nice!! that 1 10" rattled the whole suv..

you are doing WHAT? Breaking it in on your HOME STEREO? R U RETARDED? The Ohm level is different dude you can kill your home stereo or your woofer.........

USE YOUR HEAD!

I dont know of any speakers that NEED breaking in. Just be patient and plug it in your car with the proper amplifier man..... 8)

Polks.

It is widely believed that Polks sound better after a month or so. I can testify to that but I don't know if I just got used to it or if they really did "break in" :what:

there are exceptions for everything.... but think about it. Your home stereo runs at 8Ohms Im sure. You hook up a 2Ohm or 4Ohm speaker, your receiver will cook eventually....

and again, there is no 'breaking in period' that cant be taken care of in your car.... =)

Happy thumping, you will be happy with that Audiobahn!!!!

well, generally EVERYTHING sounds better after 'a month or so'. The spider gets streched out a little, the surround, etc....
