Need some estimates on a build

Im just looking for estimates on how much to plan to spend on building a z6 block. I already have the head taken care of so now I just need the block. Im not looking for any big numbers, and I dont plan to turbo, just maybe 10hp above stock. I just plan on this as a future plan because I had bought a b18b1 a week back or so and it came out of a 95 ls but turned out to be one of those late model years with a 96 ls motor in it. and I didnt want to convert to obd2 so I sold the thing for 350.

So if anyone has done just a minor N/A z6 bottom end build, let me know some rough estimates of prices to make a lil more then stock hp.

considering the Z is an older block that not too many people use, i wouldve kept the LS block as far as more support for parts.

Im not looking for anything over the top. just a little better then stock. I already have a z6 head with a port and polish, intake manifold matched to the head and the intake has been milled out to fit an ls throttle body. More then likely Im just going to be making the block back to stock specs, and am just wondering how much roughly it took any of you who have done that to do.

if you aren't looking for anything major. the i'd suggest throwing in a set of eagle rods and maybe uping the compression to 10:1 with JE pistons. H-beam eagles run around 400, and je pistons are around the same ( 375-400)

to rebuild a motor back to stock specs your lookin at about 1k. This includes machine work, new oil pump, water pump, headgasket, bolts, etc.

Is it really worth 1k to have a stock z6? Why not boost it? You can get eagle h beam rods and vitara pistons with rings for $475, pick up some arp headstuds, do the machine work and build a little turbo kit and make 200-250 whp

well, if it's a dyi you have to put your own estimate together, depending on what parts you select. If it's not a dyi then a engine builder shop/machine shop can give on estimate to how much every will cost you! good luck dude!

Im just looking for something I can do myself because there really arent any shops around where I live. and I wouldnt want to have to pay to have things shipped out when more or less I wouldnt want to put down any big numbers. I just want a DD with a lil more pep.

well, hope you have the tools for an engine breakdown and rebuild.. as far as the parts go, theres deals everywhere.. even ebay has piston/rod combos.

Like i said, you will have better results and support for the B18B

I dont have it anymore, like i said in the first post, sold it for 350, turning a 200 profit.
