IDQs are sweeeeeet. Mine aren't modest at all since I have two 15s... but a single 10 or 12 would be loud enough and sound uber clean. I haven't looked at their ebay prices... but I know retail on them is sorta high.... but I've never looked at smaller woofers so I dunno.

I liked the Infinity idea, too. pretty cost effective and will give you what you want. ;)

i have boston acoustics all around in the doors and rear deck. then for the subs i have 2 infinity 12 inch kappa's in a bandpass box. im looking for a new amp but for the moment i have a schoche 250 watt amp that is just barely pumping the subs...im trying to find a 300 watts x 2 channels at 4 ohms for an amp. 600 watts should be nice..!

my sys

ya i have pretty much the opposite of u. i have 2 of those new G5 10" boston acoustics subs and a few sets of infinity kappas running off a clarion amp throughout the car. the amp i have now, a cadence Z series putting out 2 channels of 400 rms at 2ohms n 300 at 4ohms (1600 watt peak), completely blows away almost all other amps in its class. when i first considered them, i didnt expect them to be so strong. take a look at cadence, there a little pricey but you'll get all the power you need. dont just look at rms and peak power, quality amp and high or low current has a huge effect on the volume and quality of your subs. I had a monoblock rockbox amp that put out 1000rms at 4 ohms and it doesnt even compare to the cadence. it also helps to have a high preout on your deck and a capacitor for you sub amp(s).

the kickers are decent woofers, but would you turn down an all infinity setup for this price?
this is the setup I recommend:
Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-8EUngvtcRC4/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=67700&I=108PER121&search=infinity+-harman&SearchDisplay=Infinity&wmsf=1

if you get that and this amp, you'll save $100 off the subs, this setup would slam and have the signature Infinity sound quality. I used to have these 2 12s and I wish I didn't get rid of them :(
here's the amp to complete the deal:
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-8EUngvtcRC4/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=130&I=108R610A&search=infinity+-harman&SearchDisplay=Infinity&wmsf=1

wire it parallel in with these subs and boom! 650 watts of contiuous power
no doubt...

i just helped my boy install a system in his girl's car w this sub

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-lgbBM7ZVVsA/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?I=108PER12VQ&s=0&wm=su

its a beast...

Image Dynamics = Arc Audio.. .

those companies are two independent companies, just that some of their subs are based off each other :???:

Fosgate amps are legit but check out JL Audio for subs, good quality and there W3's are cheap depending on where you buy them, and they are hella loud. Just dont buy off Crutchfield there mark up is unbelivable, just find a local store close to you.

I feel you cannot go wrong with //////Alpine, however be careful when buying audio system components from big name retailers. As I have learned the hard way, e.g. 3-large, I will only--ONLY--take my system in to custom audio shops. Generally you will find that most custom audio shops only carry the decent names. You shouldn't see Sony XPlod's, Jensen, Pyle, Legacy, etc.... You should see alpine, kicker, mtx, and if you really want to make your stuff last long, go with Directed, Concept, Diamond, JL. I am running Diamond CM3's and a JBL mono amp, and also have an Alpine amp for the interior. Never had any problems.

I'd add big names like MB Quart and Orion to that list.

I'm running a Directed amp and it's great :ok:

Big names???

How about AudioBahn/Kicker/Infinity/MTX. All of those a 'bigger' than Orion and MB Quart.
