What generation is that? I wish my dash resembled that. I've got a 6th gen. set up a bit different. I like they way it looks. nice job.

Its getting harder and harder to find a good rounded screen. They seem to be all flawed. All the pioneers only have two volt outputs as well as the alpines. The new avicn-2 CAN NOT be wired at all to let the screen be viewed while driving. The safety feature is routed through the gyro. The shitty eclipse double din only has one volt output.
Two decks is the way to go in my opinion. A good solid dvd player with all the bells and whistles then a seperate monitor. It will allow a cleaner system in the future.

the AVICN2 CAN be wired to view the screen while driving. There are 2 ways to do it ;) The pioneer screens are about the best flip outs you can buy. I used to be a fan of Alpines, but they have gone downhill the past couple years, and I would not own any of their products today except maybe a type x component set and subwoofer.
Eclipse's screens are nice, but on most of their units I have encountered (with the exception of the dead heads with an 8V balanced output) there has been a highly audible tweeter hiss at lower volumes... It wont bother most people, but I was slightly annoyed by it..

The panasonic deck you got is a nice piece, I would own one myself. The security code can be bypassed though, just like on eclipse decks, if someone knows what they are doing.

The JVC indash is a nice piece, and very inexpensive. and as much as it might surprise you, Jensen actually has a decent one out now

Just becareful during summer when you have your AC on!! My buddy had a setup like yours and the cold air crapped out the screen cause it was hitting it right on the back!

there is a ghetto way of doing it (rear camera input) and a better way that involves using the VSS wire =)
I have yet to do it, but it can and has been done by some others. I am actually considering picking one up now, because "watching" movies while driving passes the time quickly on long trips, and that was the only feature that would have prevented me from getting an N2

Who cares if the person who steals it can't use it. I would still be extremely pissed that I wouldn't have it anymore. I'm pretty sure losing it is a much worse feeling than the feeling the thief has when he can't use it.
