250 Hp ???

Your car looks good so far...I love the color, what color blue is it ???

250 HP ??? That's going to be hard to acheive, with the stock motor, even fully built turbo...I'd swap it for a dual cam LS/Vtec or B20Vtec, and turbo it, and you could easly hit your 250 HP mark...or if you're a baller, go with a k20 set up...K20A, I/H/E, K-Pro = 220 WHP alone...Which either way you decide to go, goodluck on your build...

what are you smokin? i'm pretty sure a built and boosted d16 can make more than 250hp. 400whp on pump gas is not even far fetched

anyways, moving this to members rides ;)

I am not going to get into a pissing contest, with you over some BS...I know a 250 hp D-series in acheiveable...But look at the GAY torque numbers that he will have...I was just saying that it would be way easier to acheive his 250 hp, with a B-series turbo, and he'd have higher torque numbers...

A friend of mine built a Turbo LS (B18B) swapped 98 coupe...with a stock bottom end, and about 7, or 8 lbs. of boost and put down 250 hp and almost 200 lbs of TQ...

But that's just my :twocents:...Like I said which ever way you decide...good luck with eveything...

damn man, that's a great deal, especially since a new clutch was in the trunk. I'd say, for the money, go with the turbo. depending on the mileage on the motor, you can do 250hp pretty quickly without blowing your motor. and since your getting a good deal on the turbo, you can put some money into the bottom end a bit just to give you peace of mine, and so you can run more boost, that way you don't only reach your goal, but make it easier when you decide to set a new goal of say 300 or more hp.
midnight blue looks awesome.
good luck with your build, and welcome

on the contrary if he were to build the d with the money he'd spend on JUST doing a b swap hed have way more power and alot more torque. d series produce more torque when compared to the b series. stick with the y8 and turbo it. Dont know the exact name of the pistons but theres a suzuki suv that has low compression pistons with the same bore as the d series (75 mm). use them and you could easily throw 25+ lbs of boost at that motor safelty if you build it right. 7.8:1 compressoin ratio

Lowering it and smaller wheels will make it look a lot better.
