Yes you can install them your self and you wont need longer wire... DONT CUT the wire you have.. They are conneted to the back just pull if off and plug in play in to your new speakers. The neg. and pos. are diifferent sizes so you cant screw it up. If for some reason you do need longer wire in you can splice it in to the middle of the connecter.. Just make sure you leave it where you can just plug it in.. SO many people cut that off then wrap it around the back just just tape it up.. Super gehtto...GOOSE said:^^so whata hell is good for a good price and good quality and that i can get at bestbuy or circuit city... and can i install them myself also do i need more speaker wire..?
If I was you... I would just but something from crutchfield. They will send you all necessary harneses/speaker wire etc.. See if you can squeeze and alpine or even sony explod speakers in your budget......GOOSE said:^^so whata hell is good for a good price and good quality and that i can get at bestbuy or circuit city... and can i install them myself also do i need more speaker wire..?

Let me know if you have any more questions i Can go outside and take pics if you need me to. Trust me this is super super easy.
Hum... well maybe I have gotten lucky.. Mine did, but like he said then I guess you will need a harness.MySiIzFaster said:Uhh aftermarket speakers dont have a matching harness...... he will have to cut them or get a kit......
Just depends on where you buy it. crutchfield sends you free harneses so u can plug right into the factory wiring. thats why I like them, plug and play.LizMantis said:Hum... well maybe I have gotten lucky.. Mine did, but like he said then I guess you will need a harness.
Also bought all my civics used with no speakers, so I am sure someone else did most of the dirty work. I have also had to get the kit before with my truck and it still not a problem to do.
