My second Civic, First Si

Welcome

Hello!

Just wanted to introduce myself. I just became a new owner of a brand spanking new 2009 Civic Si Coupe in Dyno Blue Pearl color. This is my second new Civic and first Civic Si. It is a huge change for me, as for past ten years I've been driving a '99 Lincoln Town Car. It is a big change, but a welcome one. I will post pics of my new Si as soon as I get original Honda ground effects. Do not want to post pics of unfinished one. Car came without, so I'm waiting to get them installed. Since I tend to keep a car for a long time, I purchased a 5 year/60 000 mile warranty.

Simply put, I love my new Civic Si as much as you do!

Very nice. I've wanted to do this swap for the longest time. Do you mind me asking how much you got the new cluster for? And welcome to the site man, looks like you've got a good clean base to start with. Best of luck with it! =)

Drop before wheels.

I feel like an ass for not responding sooner, but the new cluster cost me $55. And as for the drop before wheels...lol I knowwwww. I would have even ran steelies and kept the Rota's in the garage if I could have, but I bought them off some kid on top of my steelies to avoid taking extra steps in achieving what I wanted, and I needed new tires, so I went and just got wheels with some good tires on them. Hopefully the drop comes soon. I work on little things while saving the money up. I'm thinking about running Tein Basics, but I'm trying to do the research on some. I don't want a suspension thats too bouncy, not to say the Basics are, but I don't want to drop a grand on coils and camber kits and have them suck. Give me some feedback.

Today I ran the big three on my car, and with this next pay check, I'm building the back area a little.

The car is currently off being painted because It had the clear coat peeling and there were some dings and dents. I also just bought the F&F type I's about three weeks ago, so the car is sitting pretty good. I haven't taken any good pictures because the paint was such s**t, but this is somewhat of what it looks like via photoshop. I'll get some pictures of the car in about two weeks. Let me know what you guys think.

Next, I'm completely gutting the internals and doing some wiring projects; Viper 5900, and I also want to convert from manual to power options (windows, locks, etc.) So once thats done, I'm redoing all the insides.

True. Im in to it. The only other thing I was thinking was black, but I think a flat black like I would most likely run may take away from it a little. I think for sure if I cleaned up the wheels and buffed out the polished lip they would look even better how they are

Oh I got it dropped now man. That last picture shows what it looks like. Thats photoshop'd, but only because its not worth me taking a picture of without paint. So right now its getting painted, and once thats done, I'll have some update, real pictures up. The car will look ten times better. You can't see it in the shots I always put up, but the clear coat on the hood and bumpers was coming up. The siding was ok, just a few minor dents. Updates on the way though

I'm keeping it stock color. Two reasons; having to do jams and what not makes it a lot more expensive, but mostly because I love that stock color. Then I want to grab some smoked fogs, CTR grill, and then also some new headlights.

I don't have any actual pictures of the car with the drop just because the clear coat was flaking and Im going to have a friend shoot some good pictures when I get the car back from paint. But....I'll throw up a picture of the car photoshop'd. This is pretty much exactly how the car sits, but I'll have some legit pictures up within then next week or so. Promise
