no more skid to 2nd?

i got this car about a month ago and when i ran the gears the tires would skid to 2nd really good and loud,and for the past 2 weeks ive tried to do it and it barely grabs now. i have a d16z6 and its got like 260,000 on it but i was planning to swap very soon,but im just wandering why i have no jump on the tires anymore. thanks
