I recently bought a ‘00 civic Lx with engine swap and it has a check engine light, but I’ve been to 3 different places to scan the codes and they don’t read, the OBD doesn’t read. I checked the fuse and it’s fine. Why is the obd not reading ?? I need help!!

you mention an engine swap, so i assume it has a different ECU than stock?

Is that ECU even connected to the OBD port?
If its an aftermarket unit, You may have to read the codes directly from it, using usb, or serial connection, with special software.

Yea it has different ECU, is there any way I can connect it to OBD port ? Or will I need the original ECU?

Yes, it’s P72-A01
Seems that your harness may not be passing through the OBD connector. Also since its OBD1 you may need to manually enable the ECU codes to flash.

Under the glove compartment there is a green or blue clip holding two connectors. Once of the clips has two connections that you can jump with a paper clip. Once you turn the key to on position the CEL will begin to flash.
