ok.. check this out.. sometimes, when i start my car, i let the car idle for a few minutes... right? ok.. so it's idle is wierd sometimes for the first few minutes of my car running.. it automatically revs the engine up to 2k RPM then back down to regular idle, then back up to 2k RPM, then back down, then back up, etc.. it does this for a minute or two, especially when it's cold out.. i'm jus wonderin why its doing that.. thnks..

the positive crankcase ventilation valve? I have never heard of that causing idle issues. are you sure you didn't mean the icv? the idle control valve located on the backside of the intake manifold?

MINE DID THE SAME THING AND IT WAS THE FAST IDLE CONTROL VALVE. BUT U DONT NEED TO BUY A NEW ONE. ALL U NEE TO DO IS REMOVE IT FROM UNDER THE THROTTLE BODY AND OPEN UP THE BACK SIDE OF IT . THERE IS A WHITE PLASTIC GROMMET LOOKING LIKE THING. JUST SCREW IT DOWN, PUT IT BACK TOGATHER AND YOUR PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED. THATS WHAT I DID AND IT FIXED MY PROBLEM. sorry bout the caps, i forgot the caps lock key was on and i didnt want to rewrite all of that.

the only reason i said anything was because i didnt think it was located on the back of the intake mani...thought he was talking about something different. But like the maigne above me says, its on the bottom of the throttle body and all you have to do is rebuild it...problem solved...sorry i wasted your precious bandwidth

the car does this sometimes to warm up like said but your o2 sensor could be bad, or the idle sensor could be messed up, or the mas air sensor, bu ti belive that it is a normal thing, you should get it looked at

honda's dont have mass air sensors, they have a map sensor(manifold absolute pressure sensor), a pcv valve can cause idle to be off, honda actually recommendthat they be changed every 60,000 miles, and also the electronic air control valve on the back of the manifold can also be the problem, but in either case you should take it to a qualified tech and have it diagnosed.

your right they do the same thing, tell the ecu how much air is entering teh car by sending a voltage signal, fortunately honda makes them smaller then other manufacturers do.
